Lin Wu was thus taken to the interrogation room. The police officers handling the case couldn’t understand Blood Meng’s behavior. Blood Meng told them there were many ways to get a confession. They had worked hard and were officially given leave. Seeing a look of skepticism on the officers’ faces, Blood Meng dropped the bombshell, "Are you really intending to go against Mr. Bodde?"

Hearing Blood Meng say this, the two officers knew she had been bribed. Although they were upset, they heeded Blood Meng’s words and went on leave immediately, leaving Lin Wu entirely in Blood Meng’s hands.

Lin Wu sat alone in the interrogation room. Soon there was a vibration under his feet, and Lin Wu bent down to pull a cell phone from his sock, "Hello."

Lin Wu pocketed the phone and walked over to the window. He pushed the window open and first looked down: Holy crap. Then looking up, he felt much better. Slipping out the window, he stood on tiptoe and reached to grab the edge of the tiles. With a forceful grip of his fingers and agile cooperation of his feet, he pushed himself up above the window. Then, using a 10-centimeter protruding ledge, he stepped on it with the tips of his toes and alternately dug his hands into the tile seams, inching his way to the left.

During this, Lin Wu glanced down unconsciously and felt the world spin; his left foot gave way, and he fell, but at the critical moment, miraculously, his hands gripped a 10-centimeter-wide protrusion, and he dangled in midair.

That second scared Lin Wu out of a lifetime’s worth of cold sweat. Taking a deep breath and touching down with the tips of his toes to gain a slight foothold, his hands continued to move sideways until he finally reached the ledge of another room’s window. Pulling himself up, as his chest hit the protruding ledge, he suddenly stretched out his left hand and grabbed the aluminum alloy window sill.

Only then did Lin Wu feel his heart pounding.
