Kingdom of Corrosion

Chapter 563 - 279: Defending the City (Part 2)

Cotton and Little Knife were guarding the small gate in the fence, and compared to Cotton, Little Knife’s gun skills were much worse. Positioned to the left and right, Cotton took over 70% of the headshot rate. Hence, when Cotton was changing his magazine, zombies breached the small gate, and Little Knife put down his gun to fight hand-to-hand with the zombies, standing alone to block them. Seeing this, Shana immediately said, "Stone, to the rescue plan."

The armored vehicle started up and charged towards the fence, crushing zombies along the way, and made a tail spin turn just before reaching the fence. Because the vehicle made noise, it became the primary target for the zombies, and in no time it was swarming with them. Stone watched the durability of the armored vehicle slowly dropping and shifted gears while slamming on the accelerator, the armored vehicle roaring as it ran. Along the way, it was impossible to count how many zombies it crushed, but it finally made a beautiful drift, flinging a large number of zombies outside the safety zone. Stone then took the opportunity to drive the armored vehicle just outside the safety zone and turned off the engine.

The newly spawned zombies, along with those that had survived earlier, turned away and no longer paid attention to Stone, continuing their charge towards the west gate.

The resting Stone explained, "The farmland is completely destroyed, the zombies are dismantling the research institute."

But no one paid attention to him, as everyone was fully immersed in the shooting game. Without the resources for firing in quick succession, everyone switched to single shots, pursuing a high headshot rate. Among these challenges, the various mutant zombies created the most trouble, and Lin Wu’s performance became a critical factor in determining how long everyone could hold out.

Maya: "Titan."

"I see it," Lin Wu replied, switching to the Forest Wolf and aiming, hitting the Titan zombie right in the head outside the east gate. Already familiar with the Titan’s rhythm, Lin Wu took another headshot before the Titan could stabilize and then continued headshotting until the final shot blew the Titan’s head apart.

After taking care of the Titan, Lin Wu immediately switched to the Continuous Silencer and opened fire on three Frenzy zombies racing over corpses, killing two and a half Frenzy under rapid-fire before running out of bullets in the magazine. Without time to reload, he drew his pistol and continued shooting, finally killing the last Frenzy four meters in front of the sandbags.

Maya, who was always vigilant, witnessed Lin Wu’s actions and realized she had made a slight oversight. Lin Wu, being in a position for three-dimensional shooting, was inherently at a disadvantage against the Frenzy charging on a flat terrain.

To lower Lin Wu’s position? Absolutely not, because the Frenzy would pounce on him. Even if the Frenzy reached inside the sandbag positions, at most people would only get injured, but if the Frenzy disturbed Lin Wu, it could lead to an unpredictable chain reaction. Watching as Lin Wu barely had any rest and quickly reloaded three guns, he then picked up the Continuous Silencer and laid out a barrage, killing two more Frenzy, three Screamers, and two Exploding Carnage.

As the siege entered its second minute, the number of ordinary zombies noticeably decreased, but the proportion of mutant zombies began to increase. Taking advantage of the 10-second buffer time provided by the system, Maya said, "Ammo check, approximate counts."
