Chapter 372 - 203 Left County Hotel
Lin Wu stealthily explored, circling the rooftop for more than half a revolution and only discovered 35 soldier zombies. They weren’t scattered but were congregating within a 10-meter radius of the helicopter, either moving or remaining stationary.
Lin Wu squatted 20 meters away from the helicopter and watched carefully for a long time yet noticed a problem. Then he moved to the passageway, which was empty, and both elevator doors were closed tight. Looking down from the stairwell, he saw no zombies. As Lin Wu turned to head back to the rooftop, he spotted something amiss, a puddle of water by the elevator. It was as if someone had stopped by the elevator entrance after walking in from the rain, droplets continuously falling.
Lin Wu pulled out Silent Night and fired a shot in the direction of the droplets, creating a hole immediately. Without hesitation, he performed a Lock Head shot, and a corpse fell to the ground.
It was a Solar Demon! Not just a Solar Demon but also a Starving Demon.
Returning to the vicinity of the helicopter, Lin Wu launched a drone, scanning to find that there were actually 42 zombies within a 10-meter radius of the helicopter. Lin Wu recounted and could only find 35 soldier zombies, which meant seven Solar Demons were mixed in among the soldiers.
This complicated things. Soldier zombies had one characteristic: They resisted gunfire well due to their bulletproof vests and helmets. Lin Wu’s Silencer couldn’t kill them with a headshot unless he used armor-piercing rounds. 5.56 bullets to the head could kill them, but the base was severely short on 5.56 ammo, with just over fifty rounds remaining in total.
The best way to deal with soldier zombies was close combat, knocking off their helmets and smashing their heads, or using Little Knife’s stomping method and Maya’s Beheading swordsmanship. Lin Wu’s Wind Stinger was also very effective. But with seven Solar Demons mixed in, even Lin Wu couldn’t be sure when his Stealth would be detected, or if he’d bump into a Solar Demon after infiltrating the zombie crowd.
Solar Demons weren’t as agile as Night Demons, but their bite was just as dangerous, causing severe bleeding. Currently, ordinary bandages could only stop bleeding for five minutes. It took over an hour to get back to the base from here, requiring at least fifteen bandages. A business as large as theirs couldn’t afford such wastage. Once anyone suffered incurable bleeding, the whole team would have to retreat.
