The battle began with Lin Wu and Maya serving as the front line, clearing out all the visible zombies and ensuring a safe zone within a 10-meter radius. Yellow Hair and Fire Dance, trailing behind, used their pistols to help eliminate zombies charging out of buildings. Because Lin Wu and Maya had previously cleared out the zombies, not many were attracted by their gunfire. Even those that emerged were taken down by Sunlight and Starlight, who were the last line of defense, using their pistols. Since Sunlight and Starlight formed the third echelon, hardly any zombies targeted them because of their gunfire.
It’s uncertain whether it’s because they saw Lin Wu looking extremely angry or because the gun skill at Starlight Base was subpar, but they got injured by zombies more often—either scratched or bitten—forcing the group to stop and heal every hundred meters. During these healing breaks, Lin Wu would intentionally or unintentionally orbit around Maya, showing no desire to interact with Fire Dance.
"Falcon calling Hunter."
Maya responded, "Hunter here, go ahead."
Falcon: "Scientist Jack asked me to tell you that green zombies run at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour, and they can keep running tirelessly."
Maya replied, "Thank you."
Lin Wu: "Falcon, this is Lin Wu."
Falcon: "This is Falcon, go ahead."
Lin Wu: "Throw Jack into the sea, we don’t need his points anymore."
