Maya wielded her knife from carriage 15 to 8, then back from 8 to 15. Whenever she confronted Frenzy, Lin Wu would spend his spare time shooting to support her. In less than an hour, the number of zombies from carriage 8 to the tunnel entrance had drastically decreased; their spawn rate couldn’t keep up with Maya’s killing speed. As for Frenzy, it didn’t stand a chance; Lin Wu killed it repeatedly, and it hadn’t reappeared since.
Stone was very perceptive; he once said that Maya and Lin Wu were kindred spirits in some ways.
Once the zombies had thinned out, Maya even suggested provoking the number 7 Blood Plague. If it had been anyone else, they would have thought twice, but Lin Wu was no ordinary person.
He threw a Molotov Cocktail and ran for it, reaching carriage 6 when Blood Ferocious Ma and a swarm of Blood Zombies spawned. The Blood Ferocious Ma gave chase, followed by the Blood Zombies. By the time they got to carriage 4, only Blood Ferocious Ma was still doggedly pursuing, while the Blood Zombies had lost their target. The poor Blood Ferocious Ma, relying on its hard head and Blood Mist, considered itself invincible. However, once Lin Wu caught it with a Beast Trap, it was chopped relentlessly, its prideful Blood Mist virus not harming even a single hair on Lin Wu.
"Fishing." Lin Wu obtained a Skill Book from the Blood Ferocious Ma, looked back, and saw no one, then turned around to find Maya already heading towards carriage 7 with her knife in hand.
With a flurry of slashes, Maya killed more than 20 Blood Zombies and 7 regular zombies. But the outcome was not good. Although the Blood Zombies did not directly harm Maya, she had come too close to them many times during the fight, and after the battle, her infection level had risen to 10%.
They should have retreated knowing the difficulty, but Lin Wu took out a Serum syringe from his bag. As the Deputy Commander, even Maya hesitated, considering the base had only three syringes left. Lin Wu said, "We’re here now."

After six rounds, Lin Wu and Maya had obtained two Skill Books and two Serum bottles, a good haul, but sadly no loot dropped. Because of the Serum, Maya generously injected herself with a Serum syringe. Not only did it clear the infection, but it also provided two hours of immunity from infection.
