Fairy Tail: I Don't Want to Be the Guild Master

Chapter 255: To Protect the Entire Magic World.

Makarov's expression grew serious. The first thing on his mind wasn't the prisoners; it was the counsil people.

"Were they attacked?" he asked, his tone calm but deeply concerned. "Any casualties?"

Lahar shook his head. "No casualties. But everyone in the escort team lost their magic power all at once, and then the prisoners vanished. Whoever did it clearly didn't want to start a bloodbath. They just came to retrieve their people and make sure none of them could talk."

Rhodes felt a chill run down his back. Losing magic in an instant? He was just glad he hadn't run into that kind of sorcery himself.

Makarov frowned, arms folded. "Stripping everyone's magic power in a flash... it could be a curse or a high-level sealing spell, pre-set in advance. And if space magic was involved too..." He shook his head. "That's a troubling opponent."

Lahar nodded in agreement. "Which is why the information you gathered, Mr. Rhodes, is now more important than ever."

Makarov turned to Rhodes and gave him a subtle nod, signaling him to hand it over.

Rhodes pulled a thick stack of documents from his satchel. "Do you have someone who can make copies?"

"Of course." Lahar immediately signaled to the staff behind him.

Copy magic, though often overlooked, was a huge asset for the Council. Printing presses were too large and cumbersome for field use, so trained personnel with duplication magic remained indispensable.

As the documents were being copied, Lahar glanced through the original.
