Chapter 413: The Old Devil Continent
After I lost consciousness fighting Drakzen, I woke up inside the castle at the Iron Capital, seeing Yoru lying next to me, who was waiting for me to open my eyes.
I was a bit confused at first, but then a wave of intense sadness washed over me as I remembered the last few minutes of the battle with Drakzen.
"Fuego...!" I exclaimed, sitting up on the bed.
A few seconds later, Melina entered the room and rushed to the bed to hug me as soon as she saw I was awake. While I was glad to hug my wife, I couldn’t shake the somber feeling off my chest.
Behind Melina, Vespera and Jackson walked in, with my familiar rushing to the bed and accompanying my wife in hugging me.
When I asked about the well-being of Athena, Apollo, and Arashi, I was relieved to hear that they were all safe and sound.
Still, when I hesitantly asked about Fuego, everyone turned their sad gazes away from me.
"I understand..." I muttered, feeling a mix of anger and sadness.
"I’m sorry, Ichiro... If I had arrived a bit earlier..." Jackson commented.
