Chapter 183: Safe Haven
After we butchered the two ghost gorillas, we kept flying for an hour until we reached the new settlement. However, we were instantly received with praise, which was strange since they always acted wary around us.
The jungle beastkins explained that they saw us fighting the ghost gorillas that had been destroying their little town for weeks, so they knew they could trust us from the very beginning.
We still showed them the wooden pin that Bodego gave us to ensure them that we were allies and that only made them happier.
One of the beastkin went straight to the point, saying that their settlement was one of the last lines of defense for their town, which was the place they called "Safe Haven."
They managed to take down one of the ghost gorillas not long ago, but when two of them appeared, they couldn’t do much as their settlement would get caught up in the middle of their feud.
Nonetheless, he told us that those were the only two gorillas that fought each other, as the other ghost gorillas seemed to move together toward the shore, where Safe Haven was located.
It was obvious that they wanted us to go there as soon as possible, so we complied with the beastkins plead as they cried, saying that their wives and children were there.
We had already heard it from Bodego, but Safe Haven was the place where they sent all of the children and pregnant women so they wouldn’t be in danger with all of the monsters that were altering the jungle’s environment.
The beastkins told us that the settlement was on a certain mountain that was visible from high up in the air, so we started flying there while using wind magic to propel ourselves and go even faster.
