Chapter 63: Night walk
Julian kicked a pile of debris as he walked forward, on his face an expression of tiredness.
He looked at the sky, misty and looking like an ocean, seemingly like he could swim in it.
He decided to take a walk, unprotected, without guards. He decided he wouldn’t have to go too far. At least to where he would be seen.
He should be sleeping at the moment. His only reason for coming out here being to pick chips and add to his Exoin fragments.
He was told the dead bodies were kept at the end at a garage-looking place.
Well, walking at this time of the night shouldn’t cause any harm, but for some reason, deep down, Julian knew he shouldn’t be doing this. His earlier aim had been to pick up the Exoin fragments, but now, he decided to use this medium to explore.
The tangible texture of the city’s buildings was awe-inspiring. But then, Julian wouldn’t look at them the same way as when he first came here, at least not when he saw that they easily fell.
Him seeing spaceships crash into the houses or some vehicle going through it and bringing it down had made him think less of the buildings.
They were made of steel, and so he had been expecting them to at least be tough and easy, even though a little, to break.
But then, with how the little things demolished it, Julian thought that perhaps the houses were made of sand, because only sand could fall that easily.
Nevertheless, the buildings were beautiful and came in different shapes and sizes. Julian couldn’t really see them clearly as he was just a few footsteps past the governor’s building.
