Chapter 86: One eye?
Brandon leaned forward slightly "Alright... here," he said, tapping a line toward the middle of the page.
"This one. ’The chains of balance shall loosen. The Three Pillars shall tremble.’ What are the Three Pillars?"
Valiene leaned closer, close enough that he could feel the warmth of her presence and the light brush of her sleeve against his arm.
Her gaze narrowed slightly "I am not very sure either... But I think The Three Pillars are symbolic representations of the Church’s foundation: Doctrine, Bloodline, and Divinity."
"They represent the laws, the chosen vessels, and the spiritual force of Rhéanne. If they tremble, it suggests a disruption across every level of what holds our world together."
Brandon let out a low exhale, "So me existing... already started shaking those?"
Hm? Hearing this, she thought for a second "Wait... Lord Herald, now that you say it. Your awakening already cracked the first Pillar—Doctrine."
"Because you’re not supposed to exist. A man with ether? A male Herald? It breaks the laws written in flame and echoed for a thousand years."
He stared at the line again, then tossed the parchment lightly on the stack in front of him, slouching back against the couch. "Fuck that..."
Valiene turned toward him, one leg folding slightly beneath her as she shifted her posture "How can you give up already, My Lord."
With a sigh, she spoke "But... I do understand. It’s a headache to decipher these overnight, especially when theologians and Supreme Pontiffs have spent generations trying to and still failed."
