Chapter 239 - 239: And they are other supernaturals here
Viktor turned to Zane and subtly nodded toward Lilly while mouthing, 'Why is she sweating so badly from one question?'
Zane also had no idea and shook his head at Viktor as they waited for the woman to answer.
Cyra frowned, assuming they weren't better, but Lilly took her expression as impatience for dawdling.
"Mrs. Cyra, they are fully healed," Lilly responded quickly, exhaling the breath she had been holding. 'It's not my fault, I dare not lie in front of her.' Lilly felt guilt-free; her reason was valid enough in case those women asked her later.
"Mrs. Cyra, there's fresh blood in the cooler. I didn't know you were bringing someone with you, or I would have prepared refreshments." Lilly spoke politely, with a hint of flattery, as she faced Cyra.
Viktor and Zane's brows furrowed, sensing something strange about their exchange.
They could glean respect, fear, and awe from Lilly's expression, which made them curious why she was feeling that way towards Cyra.
Cyra nodded and sank into a soft leather seat, her expression neutral, indicating she wasn't blaming her for the lack of refreshments, since she hadn't informed them ahead of time.
Lilly breathed a sigh of relief, understanding Cyra much better; she wasn't one to make things difficult for others unless they targeted her.
She took one last look to ensure they were comfortable and needed nothing before returning to the control cabin.
Viktor and Zane sat in their chosen seats, with Zane browsing through his Nexus while Viktor closed his eyes to rest as the plane flew toward their destination.
Time had flown, and Viktor was suddenly jolted awake when his legs lifted off the ground. He opened his blurry eyes, taking in his surroundings in a daze for a moment, then sleep cleared from his eyes, and he recalled where he was.
"Have we arrived?'' He asked in a hoarse tone as he wrapped his arms around Cyra's neck for balance.
"We're here, but…this is just an aircraft hangar with no houses," Zane said, gazing out the window. His voice held a mix of confusion and questioning, and he shot a glance at Cyra with a raised eyebrow.
Lilly noticed his confusion and was about to explain when she sensed Cyra's gaze on her, and she swallowed the words at the tip of her tongue.
"Love, you'll know in time," Cyra said mysteriously, not wanting to ruin the surprise until they saw it for themselves. Zane gazed at her for a moment before nodding, a sudden sense of excitement welling up in his chest.
They stepped out of the aircraft, and snow and ice covered everything in sight. Peaks with aircraft of various shapes and colors stood in a row, parked side by side.
Cyra set Viktor down, and they followed Lilly. Zane and Viktor looked ahead, feeling unsure and curious as they approached a mountain wall with a hidden cave.
As soon as they entered, they felt the same sensation as entering a desolate land. But this time, what caught their eye was tall maple trees with golden brown leaves swaying alongside exotic flowers growing around them, their petals floating in the wind and releasing a soothing aroma.
Fireflies glowing softly in the air around the trees created a dreamy ambiance, making the trees and plants appear to pulse with life.
Lilly slowed down so they could admire the scenery before moving on. The mansion they passed had a cozy, rustic vibe, giving it a historic feel that stood out from the modern world.
But something strange caught their attention: this place was eerily quiet, as if nobody lived here. They turned to Lilly, who led them with a puzzled expression.
"Umm...they must have stepped out on an errand or for training." Lilly blurted out the flimsy excuse that popped into her head in the moment.
Viktor moved closer to Zane and whispered, "Why do I feel they are hiding instead… did Cyra do something?"
Zane turned to Cyra, patiently waiting for her response since she had clearly heard Viktor's words.
"We had a friendly duel and nothing else. I don't know why they are hiding." Cyra shrugged innocently, and Lilly stumbled, tripping over air from Cyra's response.
'How the hell is tearing someone's legs and hands apart seen as a friendly duel, or how it took months for them to recover? Then what would a serious duel mean if a friendly one put them on the brink of death?' These thoughts ran through her mind, and she shivered, breaking out in cold sweat at the idea of anyone making her fight seriously.
"We're here," Lilly announced as she stopped in front of a secluded mansion. The vampire elders and Leah immediately greeted Cyra in unison, their voices filled with nothing but respect.
"My Quee—Mrs. Cyra, it's good to see you again." They quickly changed their form of address when they saw Cyra frown.
"Hmm. I came with my husband and fiancée to relax and enjoy the sights, so relax." Cyra spoke calmly as she introduced Zane and Viktor to them. They nodded in greeting, to which Viktor and Zane responded.
Victor's eyes narrowed a bit in suspicion as he scanned the women and Cyra back and forth. "Something's definitely off here,' he thought to himself, studying the women for a moment before his eyes widened in surprise. His gaze then honed in with a sharp, serious glint.
Viktor noticed the sudden change in Viktor; his relaxed demeanor earlier had disappeared, replaced with high alert, and he nudged him.
Viktor turned and met Zane's questioning gaze. "They are like me. Not normal humans." Viktor responded with a frown, wondering what kind of supernatural beings they were.
"Let's go in; I prepared the rarest blood for you… I was informed at the last minute about their arrival, and their meals are being prepared as we speak," Liah explained the delay, hoping Cyra wouldn't be displeased.
"Alright, let's go in." Cyra placed a reassuring hand against Viktor's shoulder before entering the mansion.
"Don't worry with me here; no one can harm you." These words floated into Viktor's mind, and his tensed shoulders relaxed as he followed behind Cyra.
Inside, the décor exudes simplicity and elegance, with wooden floors covered in soft black fur.
Flower vases were arranged stylishly throughout the room, their flowers blooming and emitting a soothing floral scent.
"If you need anything, just ring the bell in your rooms," Leah said before turning to leave with the others.
Finally, they were alone, and Viktor sank onto the couch with a sigh.
"What supernatural being are they? They are so pale that it looks unnatural." Cyra leaned against the back of the couch and looked down at Viktor, whose expression pulled together in a frown.
"Vampires… and they are other supernaturals here," Cyra responded, her fingers brushing lightly on his veins.
Zane looked at Cyra's healthy skin tone and remembered those women's deathly pale skin, asking doubtfully.
"Then, why does your skin look healthier?"
Cyra straightened up at his question, pulling Zane closer into her arms, and she whispered into his ear. "Secret.''
A chuckle escaped her lips at Zane's frustrated expression.
