Chapter 27: A Painful Awakening
He took a moment to speak, realizing that he was just a random person to her. "My name is Artemis, I was sent by your brother Shimada to rescue you." Artemis says with a calm tone in his voice.
I'm sure it doesn't look good when all those guys are dead and I'm just here releasing her all of a sudden. She probably thought I was some guy who wants to take advantage of her status or something.
A lot of things can be gained from saving a princess or at least that's usually how it goes in most tales. But I'm doing this for information about the followers that we're hunting down.
I'll have to explain that to Amelia sooner or later since she doesn't really know the entire goal of what I'm doing. I think she knows that we have to stop them somehow or maybe I'm just giving her the benefit of the doubt.
"Artemis. Artemis." She says quietly to herself.
Step. Step. Someone could be heard walking from behind him, a bit distant but it was quite loud.
"Ayako you should hide somewhere, I'll make sure to get you out of here safely." Artemis assures her before drawing his sword once again.
She doesn't hesitate with hiding since she doesn't want to be captured like this again. Even if she doesn't trust him yet, this would be the smartest option till everything is handled.
That's when someone wearing full robes enters the room with a metal mask covering their face, slits down the mask with just enough space to reveal dark red eyes glaring at him. A staff in their hand, they appeared to have the same insignia on their chest as well.
