Chapter 45: Disbelief

Damon got to his feet, looking very furious. "Of course we are, you’re his daughter after all," he snapped as he gave me a very harsh look.
"You should definitely be punished for that and you’re well aware of that. That’s how things had worked for centuries, a child gets to suffer the sins of his father: so you saying you’re not aware of that doesn’t change anything." Damon continued in a sharp voice that made me swallow emptily as I stared at him from my spot a few feet away from them.
I let out a long breath then I cleared my throat before speaking.
"So... does this mean you’re all gonna punish me?" I asked quietly and when they didn’t respond, I let out a scoff of disbelief.
"You told me you’d never hurt me, you said I wasn’t a prisoner here, and you said you’d protect me." I breathed out and Damon snorted before rolling his eyes.
"Stop being delusional, that was before we got to know of your father’s crimes. Now, we’ll definitely punish you if we want," he responded sharply and I scoffed again.
"You father made all those things up and I can’t believe you all couldn’t see right through him! I used to think you were all smart?" I hurled out before I could stop myself.
"Enough." Angelo snapped out sharply and I flinched. He was still sitting, but the sudden power that came over the room made my knees shake a little as I got consumed with the feeling of wanting to drop to my knees for no reason.
