Chapter 21: Posessiveness?

"Fucking Hugo..." Damon bit out in a low, angry voice beside me. When I glanced at him, his jaw was clenched so tightly and his grip on my shoulder was so tight, but I didn’t bother to point that out because I had a feeling he was using that touch to ground himself.
"You’re angry?" I asked before I could stop myself, but I wanted to fully clarify things.
He shot me a sharp look before dropping his hand from my shoulder.
"Of course I am. Hugo is a fucking snake, and someone like her who’s stupid and gullible wouldn’t be able to tell." He huffed out as he spoke and beside me, Landon also turned to give him a surprised look.
"So you care about what happens to her?" Landon asked and Damon scoffed while rolling his eyes.
"Of course not. Why the fuck would I do?" He shot at us with his eyes narrowed.
"So you’re not jealous?" Landon continued and Damon looked at us like we suggested that he skinned dip before a crowd of five thousand.
"Why would I be?" He questioned before rolling his eyes and glancing away.
