Chapter 346: True Test Of Power
"Let’s see how you defend against this."
With those words, Logan charged straight toward the seven Martial Sovereigns once again.
Tian Shin cursed under his breath. "Damn it... does he feel no fear? He just took a direct hit, yet he’s coming at us again as if we’re nothing."
"Everyone, be ready," one of the Chong family guardians shouted. "That ability of his has limits. He couldn’t stop all of us before. Give it everything you have. Some of us will be restrained — but those who aren’t... go for the kill!"
Everyone nodded.
In an instant, they began preparing their strongest attacks — techniques that would leave a heavy toll on their bodies afterward. But this was not the time to hold back.
Logan stood before them like a harbinger of death. Even his presence felt suffocating, as if anything he touched would decay.
Without slowing down, Logan charged straight at them once more and slashed his sword just as before.
Tian Shin raised his weapon to block, while the others prepared to unleash their attacks.
Logan’s eyes glowed....
Dragon’s Glare.
Five of them froze instantly, just like before.
And just like before... Two did not.
"Ninefold Attack — Final Form!"
"Wrath Breath — Spirit Ray!"
The two who remained free unleashed their full power. The ground trembled violently. The air itself seemed to distort. A single Martial Sovereign was enough to devastate an entire city with just one strike — and now, two of them had released their ultimate techniques at once.
But all seven of them failed to notice something... Something was whistling through the air, streaking toward them like light.... Not one.... But five...
Logan was not alone in his charge this time.
Five weapons — two spears and three swords were closing in on those seven.
Schlk! Schlk! Schlk!
Clang! Clang!
Three piercing sounds rang out... followed by two heavy metal clashes.
The two who had unleashed their attacks suddenly froze. Slowly, they lowered their heads... Only to see metal tips protruding from their chests.
Another martial sovereign from the Shin family had his chest torn open as well, while two others staggered as something struck their backs with overwhelming force.
Logan leapt backward, barely evading the incoming attacks. Even so, the Spirit Ray grazed him, drawing a spray of blood.
Yet a smile still formed on his lips. "Three down... just four more to go."
The three whose chests had been pierced dropped to their knees...
Then collapsed.
Dead.
As Logan retreated, the effect of Dragon’s Glare faded.
The two who had been struck from behind coughed up blood. Reaching back, they felt the dented armor protecting their bodies.
"I... I was only saved because of this armor," one of them said, his voice trembling. "He’s... he’s too dangerous. Too unpredictable. We can’t win. We’ll all die."
Tian Shin gritted his teeth, fury and despair clashing in his eyes. "Is there really no way?" he muttered. "Are we... all going to die at the hands of this kid?" A cold sense of despair gripped his heart.
His head began to spin as he desperately searched for a way to survive. Then — whether it was the mercy of the heavens or simply his will to live — something clicked in his mind. "Spread out! Don’t look into his eyes!" Tian Shin shouted. "Watch for the weapons coming at you, and attack from a distance!"
His words stirred something within the remaining three martial sovereigns. They were martial sovereigns, after all — veterans, geniuses who had climbed to this level. How could they fail to understand what Tian Shin meant?
They remembered those golden eyes. The moment they had seen them, their will had been crushed. So they had to avoid that gaze.
Logan could control weapons to strike from their blind spots — blind spots only he could see. But what if he were surrounded? What if attacks came from multiple directions at once? Could he still control everything without seeing all of his opponents?
The three of them immediately split apart.
Two moved to the left, while one dashed to the right. Of the two on the left, one circled widely, moving fast until he reached Logan’s back.
Now, Logan stood at the center. A faint smile appeared on his lips. ’Not as naive as I thought,’ he mused. ’It won’t be as easy anymore.’
Tian Shin’s eyes flashed with determination.
This time, he took the initiative. With a sharp burst of speed, he shot toward Logan, his figure blurring as he closed the distance in an instant. His arm arced inward, sword carving a deadly trajectory toward Logan’s neck.
And then...
He released it.
A slash that seemed capable of splitting the very air itself. But just before the blade could touch Logan’s skin...
"Halt." Dragon’s Glare.
Tian Shin froze mid-motion, his sword suspended in the air, barely a hair’s breadth away from Logan’s throat.
At that exact moment....
A spirit energy ball came crashing in from the side. Logan had already anticipated it. His body shifted slightly, dodging the attack with precise timing. But in the next instant...
Thud!
A kick slammed into his back.
Whoosh!
Logan was sent flying through the air before crashing heavily onto the ground, sliding several meters as dust erupted around him.
Before he could even rise...
Another spirit energy ball whistled toward him. Gritting his teeth, Logan raised his hand. Four layers of ice walls materialized instantly between him and the incoming attack.
Scatter! Scatter! Scatter! Scatter!
All four layers shattered one after another, exploding into fragments of ice.
But it was enough. Logan rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the remaining force of the attack. He pushed himself up and leapt away.
Just then, his senses flared. Someone was already upon him.
A Chong Family guardian.
"Stop."
Dragon’s Glare activated once more. The guardian froze. Logan stepped in, his sword slashing downward...
But right before the blade could land...
Clang!
Another sword intercepted it.
At the same time, a second attack came rushing toward Logan from a different angle.
With no room to press forward, Logan clicked his tongue and leapt back, narrowly escaping the encirclement.
He landed lightly, his chest rising and falling slightly faster than before. Around him, the remaining martial sovereigns repositioned, their movements sharper, more coordinated.
The real battle..... The true test of power had finally begun.
