Chapter 207: Her Betrayal
Cordelia’s gaze was firm as her brown eyes stared right into Elys. The old woman who had served the former Northern Princess with all that she had had now turned cold against her. Elysianne could not find where to begin with how she felt looking into the unfamiliar expression in Cordelia’s face.
Aleksander, on the other hand, could only smirk in sarcasm. The item that he snatched rolling from the floor was enough to convince him of one thing.
Aside from the old woman’s insolence with barging in his office unannounced, the discovery of her secret deemed to have put to stone the young king’s decision.
"My, my, oh my," the vampire king whistled in amemusement, "if my eyes aren’t tricking me, this should be enough evidence to have you beheaded, Cordelia. Why do you have the same looking vial as that of the capital arsonist?"
The old maidservant clicked her tongued as a scowl formed all over her face.
"Why do you have this, Cordelia?" Elys whipped her pointed finger towards where Aleksander stood with an evil face.
The old woman didn’t respond to Elys. Instead, she closed her eyes and took out her hair tie. Her snowy white hair which was previously neatly tied in a knot, had now come undone.
Elys frowned immediately, as the act had meant for the Northern Kingdoms’ nobilities who had been found ashamed one way or another since the very beginning of their kingdom.
Cordelia raised her fist forward, opening it as her hairtie dropped to the dround
"Just as what I have mentioned before," she began, "you, of all people, have changed, your majesty. I don’t think I coud ever be able to protect and serve you as I have before all of this shit show added."
Elys blinked several times before her pending tears would spill out of her hurt eyes.
