The Royal Revenge

Chapter 206: Could She Possibly Be?

Elys was too stunned to speak a single word in response to what Cordelia said. She couldn’t believe that her trusted maidservant could say something like that to her. Hadn’t the two of them already spoken about the same thing just moments ago?

Cordelia had even given her words of encouragement.

"What kind of nonsense are you spouting, Cordelia?" Aleksander asked her.

The vampire king pulled Elys towards him as he noticed his wife had turned to stone with what her ’trusted’ and ’loyal’ maidservant had said to her.

"I meant what I said, and I am not saying any nonsense here," the old woman spoke.

Her eyes stared at the young king as if he was the devil incarnate, her disapproval more than just obvious with the way she looked at Aleksander.

Hearing the words Cordelia said, Aleksander couldn’t help but scoff.

"What has changed with you, woman?" the vampire king gazed at the maidservant with equal disdain. "You barge in my office like a barbarian and now spew words that even made your Queen turn to stone with shock."

Cordelia clicked her tongue in response.

"Who do you call a barbarian now? It is your kind that has been feared by many humans due to your sadistic ways of pillaging them one by one. I have never seen a hint of remorse in any of this kingdom’s vampires when the topic of slavery and human persecution comes up," she said.

Aleksander merely tilted his head in a cocky manner as he listened to Cordelia’s blabber. He already knew that the rest of his people didn’t share the same sentiments as he did when he agreed to Elys’ conditions.
