Chapter 144: Meeting
Cordelia and Henry returned shortly afterwards. Elys glanced at the chamber doors, remembering that it was Sir Wiriam’s men who were stationed outside.
She made precautions and added some protective spells inside her walls as they waited for Henry and Cordelia, carefully placing them accordingly to stop anyone who might try to listen in on them.
She also made sure to include all other walls of the chamber, including the ceiling and the windows. Not a single spot was made available for eavesdropping vampires.
"I never thought you could also do such," Aleksander commented.
"Aside from attack spells, I can do this much and mana manipulation with those I touch," Elys explained.
Aleksander’s eyes twinkled with the additional knowledge he learned about his wife, "My respect for you grows each second I spend time in your presence."
"Don’t bother with the flattery, my king," Elys scoffed. "I am only doing what is necessary for our survival and success."
"I would really want to have you back to the shared bedchamber, my queen," Aleksander’s voice turned serious, "Your value to the success of this agreement has proven to be of great importance."
Elys only rolled her eyes in response, clicking her tongue with disapproval, "My ladies in waiting won’t feel safe with your presence hounding on them, your majesty. I rather use them to my advantage without you giving them heart attacks."
