Chapter 268: Picking A Fight
After the debacle that was them looking through the past and uncovering all the mysteries, Nathan decided that it was time for him to see the woman of the hour.
"You’re really going to check on Raine right now?" Davin asked as he trailed behind the King. "I thought you’re gonna let her grieve in silence?"
Nathan promptly replied, "Plans change, Davin. This is something that shouldn’t be put off lest we actually forget to inform her in the first place." He then sighed, "It’s gonna happen one way or another. We might as well rip the band-aid off now."
"Fair enough," Davin shrugged. "Still, how do you think she’d take the news?"
The King merely hummed in response, "I don’t know. My memories of her are hazy at best and absolutely nill at worst. If anything, I could only hope that she wouldn’t do something drastic enough that it’d undermine both of our positions of leadership."
After all, the woman was still grieving. Who knows what she’ll do once she got their information. Would she fly off the rails and go berserk? Or would she just sink into herself and knock herself out of commission for even longer? It hurt to think of such scenarios, but he knew himself that he was simply being realistic.
"She’ll probably just be fine with it," Davin chuckled. "Raine’s pretty tough. She might not be at the moment, but anything that isn’t too life-threatening will probably be dusted off like it’s nothing."
"I could only hope that’s the case then," Nathan nodded. "We have more than enough problems to think about right now. The last thing we need is for another loose end to pop up and make our lives miserable."
Walking side by side, Nathan and Davin continued on their journey towards Raine’s private residence. They weren’t stopped by anyone, in virtue of their current status as the de facto ruler of the Moon Clan, but by the time they arrived at the Moon Clan Princess’s home, they were stopped by a very familiar figure.
"King Nathan?" Levi curiously asked, his body blocking the door to the residence. "What’re you doing here?"
"I’m here to see Raine," the King tersely responded. "Is she here?"
