Chapter 240: Temporary cell
Reaching the room, Decan took in a deep breath as he calmed himself for the task at hand. Surely, there would be more than enough problems for him to look forward to at the moment, and his King’s wrath was only one of the many trials he had to face.
Then again, this was still well within his expected outcomes.
"Time to face the music..."
Pushing the door open, the secret room of the Blue Moon Pack laid itself bare to the former King. Looking around, it would seem that Davin was already waiting for him inside as was the unconscious form of their sleeping King. Boris and Aspen arrived before Decan could walk onto his seat.
"So, how did the exchange go?" Davin asked, his arms folded over his chest as he leaned by the nearest wall. "I assume it was a success? Seeing as you’re all here, Marcus didn’t renege on the deal?"
Decan let out a small smile, "That’s right. It all went off without a hitch. Well, as much as it could be."
The vampire had opted out of coming with them on the exchange. It was only obvious that the young man was pretty much going to be a loose cannon as soon as Marcus came into the picture. As such, Decan didn’t object to his decision.
"It was still nerve-wracking, to say the least," Aspen shook his head by the side of the room. "Even while watching it happen through the screens, it honestly felt as if the bastard was looking right at me."
"I agree on that," Boris let out a humorless chuckle. "Just being near him was giving me the creeps. He had this aura to him... Like he always has a plan for everything."
