The Untamed: Game of Hearts

Chapter 239: A good start

Decan let out a sigh of relief as they returned to the safety of the Convel Society. The journey home had been silent, but the comfort in knowing that Crissa and Cole were back with them alleviated the gnawing dread that was threatening to consume him. He knew that Marcus wouldn’t let this perceived slight pass him by without dishing out any sort of retaliation, and it was only a matter of time before the King actually made well with that unsaid promise.

"Did they treat you two well?" Decan asked. The two quickly nodded, making the former king let out a sigh of relief. He then looked towards Aspen, who was carefully monitoring the situation through their security cameras. "Any other problems?"

"Everything is quiet so far," Aspen relayed. "The Princess is right. Marcus wouldn’t do anything that could cause her harm."

Decan only nodded at the good news. It was going well so far, and he only hoped that it would stay that way.

Soon enough, they eventually arrived inside the Convel Society territory. Looking at Aspen and Boris, Decan instructed, "I’ll bring Cole back to his father. You two send my daughter back home to my wife. Let’s meet in the King’s residence later."

With a nod, the two quickly moved as they went their separate ways. Watching the two leave, Decan sighed as he made his way to the White Claw Pack compound. It was for the best to go there, seeing as Cole was of the same age as his son, Regan, and the two boys were good friends.

"Regan will be happy once he finds out that you’re back now," Decan smiled as he walked Cole back to his father’s home. "He’s been missing you, I’m sure. Though, how was it back there?"

Cole hummed as he thought back, "The one who captured us seemed nice enough, and he treated us really well, Uncle Decan. Also, I think he’s also one of our kind; a werewolf..."

Decan frowned at the new information. But before he could ask Cole for more details, Lucio had emerged from the door of their house, the man suddenly rushing towards them while calling out Cole’s name.

"Cole!"

"Father!" the boy yelled as he quickly ran to his father’s arms.
