Chapter 217: Soon Be Together
"Are you sure about this, daughter? Is there really no other way to stop you?" Mrs. Chan sighed as she gloomily looked at her daughter.
After visiting the Lim Family, she and her husband had gone directly to Keira’s dorm at the military base. When they arrived there, her daughter was already busy preparing her things for the mission. The special task force team would embark on the rescue operation tomorrow.
Keira smiled as she held her mother’s hands and said, "Mom, don’t worry... Everything will be fine. I will return with Zach and we will give you a lot of grandchildren soon."
Mrs. Chan gave Keira a weary expression as she contested, "No, just return home safe and I will be at peace."
"Yes, you should first focus on returning home safely with Zach, daughter. Only then can you fulfill your promise to give us grandchildren to play with," interrupted Field Marshal Chan in jest.
Keira laughed and gave her dad a wink before she replied, "Of course, Dad. I will. So please stop worrying."
"Oh, this child! You know we can’t stop worrying..." Mrs. Chan whined. She burst out crying. Keira was their only treasure in this world. They cherished her so much that it was difficult for her to let her go, especially when she knew how dangerous the place to which Keira would need to go.
Keira hugged her mom tightly and tried to pacify her by saying, "I know you can’t, Mom. And I really feel bad for making you two worry about me. But please have faith. Everything will be fine, nothing would happen to me and I will bring your son-in-law back soon."
She was so excited yet also nervous, that it was hard for her to get her sleep after her parents left that night.
