Chapter 332: Always Another Adventure
The following day, Evanna and Arawn sat inside a carriage generously provided by King Osian, which served as their mode of transportation until they reached the outskirts of the Direwood Forest. Upon reaching the forest, they would resume their usual mode of travel on horseback. Despite Midknight’s discontent with trotting on the side without Evanna, he was accompanying her back to the Flori palace, where Arawn was slated to undergo his coronation.
With intertwined fingers, Evanna gazed out the window, experiencing the comforting sensation of Arawn’s thumb gently caressing her knuckles. The rhythmic clinking of the guards’ armour and the clip-clopping of horse hooves echoed around them, accompanied by the sunlight casting its glow over grasslands and villages. People emerged from their businesses and homes to catch a glimpse of the renowned royal couple, celebrated not only for their beauty but also for their prowess as warriors and heroes, aiding both elves and humans. They were the royal couple bridging the lands together.
"So, what now?" Evanna wondered aloud, watching the outside world. Axel sat on a horse to the side of the carriage where she could see him, reminding her of Ger and Ronan’s departure.
"Are you disappointed to be settling down and not joining Ger and Ronan on an adventure?" Arawn asked softly. There was no jealousy or annoyance; he was curious about his wife.
Evanna’s head whipped to the side, shocked by his words. Her shock transformed into a smile as she gazed at her beautiful husband. "Our life is one grand adventure already."
"Ah yes, you will keep me on my toes..." Arawn smirked back, anticipating what his wife would put him through.
"That I will," Evanna giggled and leaned into Arawn, gently kissing him and sighing, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Then... To our next adventure."
Arawn rested his head atop hers, repeating Evanna’s words.
"Our next adventure."
