Chapter 331: Farewells (3)
Before the end of the night, one more appearance added to Evanna’s emotional evening. Her head was resting on Arawn’s lap, where he stroked the top of her head when they both felt the sudden presence of another being on their balcony. Without moving, both of them used their powers; icicles hovered in front of the door, and vines were already crawling up the balcony, waiting to sneak up on the intruder.
"Well, isn’t this a lovely welcome?" The charming voice of a certain vampire made the pair release their breath, and their gifts disperse.
Killian opened the doors, eyebrows raised at discovering Evanna in her nightwear. Fortunately, she wore a silky robe over the top, and Arawn was shirtless, revealing the fine lines and contour of his abs and chest, long locks straight and perfect like usual, shoeless. While Arawn was reading a book, Evanna happily gawked at the man she had married. Until the vampire arrived, she had been planning to seduce Arawn away from his book.
It was either she crawled on top of him and threw the book to the side, or she opened her robe to reveal the short, silky night dress beneath, revealing far too much of her breasts already. Of course, this was not an option now. Killian couldn’t help the smirk tugging on his lips at the typical newlywed lovebirds. While Evanna thought she was being sneaky and planning to seduce Arawn, his blood was already heating, and he was about to pounce on her before his arrival.
"Is there a reason you are interrupting our evening?" Arawn tsked, annoyed that his time with his wife was being interrupted.
"I have travelled far, you know," Killian sighed dramatically, flopping down beside Arawn and playing with his hair with a mischievous grin. Evanna didn’t know when this relationship transpired, but somehow, the vampire’s ways, even annoying or charming, worked on her husband, too. He didn’t mind Killian’s ridiculous ways.
"You did," Evanna answered, sitting up from her position after noting the lightness in Killian’s eyes now. He looked more than happy.
"Arawn, you must tell me..." Killian tilted his head to the side, still playing with the end of his hair. "What do you do to keep your hair so perfect all the time? Mine likes to curl, you see..."
"You really want to know?" Arawn questioned, gesturing with his finger to come closer as though what he was about to tell him was a secret.
