Chapter 15
Kael’s POV.
I woke to the soft light of dawn creeping through the curtains, my eyes landing on Aria, my Luna, sleeping peacefully beside me.
Her silver hair spilled across the pillow, her face calm, her breath steady. She looked small, fragile, curled up in the sheets, and my chest tightened.
She was mine—my mate, my everything—even if she was hiding behind Celeste’s name. But then the image hit me like a blade: Alpha Nicholas last night, his arm around her waist, his smirk daring me to snap.
Rage burned through my veins, hot and sharp, my wolf Zeus growling low, ready to tear something apart.
I clenched my fists, my knuckles white, forcing the anger down. Not here. Not now.
I slid out of bed, careful not to wake her, my feet cold on the wooden floor. I moved quietly, grabbing my clothes—a simple black shirt and pants, the silver trim catching the faint light.
I dressed fast, my mind still spinning with Nicholas’s smug face, his hands on my mate. My jaw tightened, my wolf pacing, urging me to act.
I glanced back at Aria, still asleep, her lips parted slightly. She didn’t need to see me like this, burning with jealousy and rage. I just needed to focus, to get through this day.
A sharp knock at the door jolted me, my heart lurching. I rushed to it, my boots half-on, and cracked it open, keeping my voice low.
Brian stood there, his brown eyes apologetic, his hands raised like he knew he’d messed up.
