Chapter 117 - Hundred And Seventeen
As Ryan walked down the hallway, he collided with Davis, who asked him if he was alright. Davis could notice that he looked angry and sad. He tapped Davis on the back gently. "I’m fine," he said, "just slightly riled up."
"Your Grace," Davis said. "There’s an important letter that needs your immediate attention and Her Grace instructed me to bring you from the study."
Ryan was taken aback, but a smile returned to his lips. He took the letter and read it shoving it in his pocket. "Lead the way," he told Davis.
They came to the ballroom, and Ryan saw Suzy waiting for him. It was the first time he had seen her since he had come to the ball. He couldn’t help but notice how beautiful she looked. She walked over to him, her expression a mixture of anger and disappointment. "I want to go home," she said.
Ryan nodded. "I want to go home too," he replied. "Davis, ready the carriage for our departure." He ordered.

The carriage rattled along the cobblestone path, the clip-clop of hooves and the sway of the suspension the only sounds disturbing the night air.
Inside, the dim glow of a single lantern cast long, dancing shadows across the plush velvet seats. Ryan sat across from Suzy, his long legs stretched out, ankles crossed. His deep brown eyes were fixed on her, a thoughtful expression on his handsome face.
