"What did you say? How is that possible?" Athena gasped, stunned by her words.
Leon, who had been declared dead, was still alive?
"Did Liliana discover his whereabouts?" She wondered silently, her heart racing.
As if reading her thoughts, Liliana, whose image flickered within the crystal orb, shook her head and said, "You’re wrong. I didn’t find him. I only found out because the mark that connects me to Leon reappeared. That’s how I knew."
"The mark?" Athena was taken aback, then recalled something from the past. A moment later, she exhaled in relief, her body finally relaxing.
"Thank goodness," she whispered, a faint smile forming on her lips.
With this news, the tightness in her chest eased, and the anxious weight she’d been carrying lifted at last.
Seeing that smile, Liliana fell silent. In her entire life, she had only seen Athena wearing cold, bitter expressions.
It was the first time she had seen her smile so genuinely—and it subtly changed her perception of her.
"So," Liliana said in a casual tone, "are you going to withdraw your forces or keep searching?"
Athena fell silent for a moment, then took a deep breath and straightened her posture.
"I’ll withdraw my forces," she replied firmly.
