[VRMMO] Chaos Doctor

The battle royal was beyond chaotic.

Countless number of players which filled the maps were dropping like flies.

And it wasn't just few hundreds in each map…. No.

Each map had hundreds of players…. And yet, the number of the players was dropping nonstop.

Some players committed acts of mass genocide all on their own, while some others fought with each other, causing mass destruction around.

It was a… Genocide… This is the only word that truly fitted in this situation.

Even before the boarder appeared, on some of the maps, around 30% of people were already eliminated…. And as the boarded DID finally made their appearance, the massacre just sped up.

As the players tried running away from the border, they started encountering each other, causing the fights to start up nonstop.

Some players set up ambushes and or setting up traps which would cause people to get swallowed by the boarder.

War, genocide, duels, tricks, traps, ambushes… Pretty much, everything was present.

And as this "madness" continued… Some maps were finished.

A clear goal has been researched on few maps already, with some having reach the goal before half of the map has been swallowed by the boarder.

Some maps took bit more time to finish… But in the end, every single map reached the goal in the end of the day.

"AND THAT IS OVER!" – shouted W.W into microphone.

"The map B has finished!"

"And with that! The first phase of the tournament is officially over!"

"The names of the winners will be officially announced on the official website, so you can check who had qualified."

"But as of right now! Let's get ready for the announcement!"

"Right from the get go, we will be holding the second phase tomorrow!"

"All the items you had used, skills and items durability you had lost during the first phase will be restored to their original state, so don't worry about not being at your full power."

"And now, what will be the second phase?"

"It will be the same and completely unchanged from the original announcement."

"It will be a HUNT!"

"Simple put, you will be hunting for creatures and other monsters."

"Once you accumulate over 300 points, you will be instantly qualified to the next stage."

"Like before, the players will be split into several maps."

"This time, there won't be anything like a boarder chasing after you AND during this phase, the players will be granted a revival mechanic, where they will revie after specific amount of time has passed."

"However, this time there will be a new annoyance hanging over your heads."

"The time limit."

"Once the timer is up, only people with the highest amount of gathered points will be allowed to go up."

"The official rules and specific details will be posted online, so you can look into it if you want, but pretty much what I've told covered the basic knowledge."

"And so, without further ado, rest well!"

"This event server will soon close, so if you wish to talk now in peace, this is your only time."

"Goodbye for today!" – said W.W as she then disappeared, leaving behind a confetti.

"So, how did it go?" – asked Phantasia while leaning against a tree.

"I've gotten past." – said Thanatos.

"Same here." – said Maparapara.

"But damn… This was way more annoying than I've thought."

"I mean, common! I was straight up treat as some sort of raid monster."

"I straight up couldn't move for the late half of the match, I was straight up being attacked by some randoms non stop in great numbers, I even I had to deal with some people who I think were rankers…. What about you two? Anything annoying?"

"Well… I run into two master ranker and Mara from the get go." – said Thanatos.

"Damn! Really? Like they spawned near you?!" – asked the slime girl.

"Yeah…. They did… We straight up spawned near the same spot." – said Thanatos.

"….Anybody special?" – asked Phantasia.

"Yeah…Doremi and the number 5 master ranker…"

"Oh! Damn! You really gotten unlucky! Didn't you?!" – said the slime girl.

"Yeah…. But still, I survived." – said Thanatos.

"I made a small team up with Doremi and we took down the number 5, while on the other hand, it seems Mara was eliminated by Doremi when she was sent flying in her direction when the mage made his appearance."

"What about Doremi? Did you dealt with her?" – asked Phantasia.

"No… We let each other go." – replied Thanatos.

"Overall, I fought few rankers and eliminated them later on… And that is pretty much it."

"However, there was one thing that I found out."

"It is regarding Mara."

"When I was about to finish her off myself, she started emanating the golden flames."

"The same flames which are the trade mark of Arthur's divine power."

"You don't say." – said Phantasia.

(Golden flames…. There are only one known players that use them.) – thought Phantasia.

(The one wielding the divine power of the elder god.)

(After he had betrayed the organization, he started expanding his own guild, forming his own faction and forging connections…. He had been quiet annoying thorn to both the heavens and hell…. However…)

[Several days before the start of the tournament.]

"The traitor saint is using the golden flames?" – Phantasia as he had a private conversation with 'Kid'.

"Yeah… Honestly, I'm always checking on him, because he looks…. Way too annoying in my eyes as well as problematic."

"His faction has been expanding way too much in way too short spawn of time…. But what caught me off guard was something I apparently heard."

"The traitors saint using golden flames."

"The same flames that Arthur is using."

"And these golden flames, the flames of the sun belong only to Arthur who uses the power of the elder god."

"So what is the meaning of this?"

"How is more than one person able to use the power of the elder god, which only Arthur should bear?"

"Honestly…. I don't know…. And this is quiet concerning." – said 'Kid' with annoyed expression.

"Religion and faith."

"Power of wishes and what not… The gods are both weaklings and parasites… While at the same time, being mighty and powerful beings."

"No matter if it is hell, heaven or true gods."

"The power of the faith can empower them. The devotion and will can be shaped by them."

"Why do you think they want to be worshiped?"

"A form of divinity, a fuel and growth."

"A tool for the gods…. However… We are speaking here about the divinity of the elder god, a divinity which should had no power whatsoever."

"Then again, the elder gods, the true gods are far more confusing."

"They were much more powerful, much more special…. They… Their whole existence was something above heavens and hell."

"Heck, their divinity itself is prove that they were special."

"Divinity of specific god completely disappears, unless they are stored in special divine equipment."

"But even so, it would still end up getting extremely weaken."

"However, that man wield it at full power… Which proves yet again how special elder gods were."

(And I could tell why…. Heck, now we have confirmation.)

(Arthur maybe starting his own religion.)

"I know I said that you all are allowed to do anything you want in this tournament…. But I guess I will be having a request." – said Phantasia.

"Eliminated any and all people that are related to Arthur or his guild."

"I don't want any of them to even reach semi-finals."

"As for Arthur…. Well, I will deal with him."

"You are free to ignore this order, the hunt one and instead aim to reach the finals…. But I guess these bastards wants to use this tournament as their opportunity…. And I ain't letting them have it."
