Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3718: Injustice

Chapter 3718: Injustice

"You’re an Immortal Body Cultivator?" Fang Xianhai asked while he followed Alex.

Alex slowed a little, turning toward the man. "Isn’t that obvious? I did say my body cultivation is what allowed me to stay inside there this long."

"No, that’s not what I meant," the man quickly corrected himself. "Did you reach Immortality through body cultivation?"

"Ah, no," Alex answered. "I’m a regular Immortal. I am a body cultivator as well, but it was a while before my body reached the Immortal realm."

"But it is stronger than your cultivation base, right?" the man asked. "How did you do it?"

Alex smiled. "It’s rather easy, actually. All you have to do is drag yourself through Hell, and you can do it too."

That man didn’t know what to say.

Alex stepped out of the barrier and heard the loud chatter of the crowd cheering for him. He looked toward them all, sighing on the inside. He hadn’t really planned on making a scene, but it seemed he had accidentally done just that.

Well, he couldn’t do much now, so he walked toward Helen and the rest.

Halfway through, Han Yifei flew in from the side, standing in his way.

"I think you cheated," she said. "You need to report yourself to the Divinities right now."

"Cheated?" Alex asked. "How have I cheated?"

"You are very clearly a Sentinel, and yet you’ve interfered in our trial," she said. "You need to report yourself, or I will call for the Divinities."

"That isn’t needed, Yifei," Fang Xianhai said from the side. "I do not believe he is lying to us."

Yifei’s eyes narrowed. She seemed to go through many thoughts in her mind before landing on the one that made the most sense to her.

"I will make the complaint myself."

She looked to the sky and shouted out loud.

"SENIORS! I DEMAND JUSTICE!"

Her voice boomed through the desert, empowered by her recovered Qi, reaching everyone who monitored the secret realm from the outside.

The crowd looked on in sheer disbelief as such a thing happened. Almost everyone there had no idea what a Sentinel was in this context, so all they saw was a cultivator they knew and respected calling out someone they knew almost nothing about.

Many of them began to believe at that moment that Alex really may have cheated in some form, most likely through an undetectable external means. The cheering crowd silenced a little as they watched the confrontation.

Alex crossed his arms and watched the woman. "Very well. We’ll wait."

It took a Divinity less than a minute to arrive. As soon as he did, he landed beside Alex and Han Yifei, staring at the two of them.

Alex didn’t recognize the Divinity at all with his yellow and black robes. His face was mostly obscured by his thick beard and even thicker bushy eyebrows. He had a frail figure, making him look a little weak.

His power, however, wasn’t weak at all. He was most definitely a Divine Manifestation realm cultivator, and in the higher realm at that. There could only be a hundred such people in total throughout the entire realm, and this was one of the stronger ones.

"I shall administer fairness if fairness hasn’t been maintained," the man said, looking toward Han Yifei. "You are the one who demanded justice. What injustice do you wish to report?"

Han Yifei’s hand shot forward, pointing at Alex. "This man is a Sentinel, and yet he participated in our trial even after the person he was protecting left."

"Sentinel?" the man asked, turning toward Alex.

For a moment, the old man’s gaze seemed to narrow at Alex. Something about him caught him off guard. And then, he saw his face much more clearly.

"You’re in here too?" the old man asked.

Alex blinked. "I don’t believe we’ve met before, senior."

"No, but what Divinity around here would need to meet you to know who you are?" the man said. "You’re still an Immortal, are you not?"

Alex nodded.

The man turned toward Han Yifei. "No crime has been committed. Your trial has been completely fair, since he is not a Sentinel."

"What?" the woman could hardly believe it. "How is that possible? He lasted longer than I did, with his cultivation base."

The old man gave a very exaggerated shrug. "I don’t care what he did or didn’t do. My job here is to make sure no rules have been broken and that everyone is participating fairly. And I can tell you that this man’s presence and actions today were completely fair."

Yifei could hardly hear what she was being told. It just didn’t make sense that Alex had lasted much longer than her despite having a weaker cultivation base.

Fang Xianhai had the answer now, of course, but he wouldn’t push himself into this conversation, since it made Yifei look vain in comparison, which he would most definitely appreciate.

"Do you have anything else you wish to report?" the man asked.

Yifei slowly shook her head.

"If that is all, I shall leave."

The Divinity flew away.

Fang Xianhai finally walked up to her and revealed the truth Alex had given him. The woman’s eyes widened even farther in surprise as she looked toward Alex. But he had already moved past her, making his way toward his family.

Fang Xianhai turned.

"Senior!" he cried out.

It took Alex a moment to realize he was being spoken to. He turned around, looking at the young man.

"Me?" he asked.

Fang Xianhai nodded. "You are better than us at this, but are you better at other things too?"

Alex shrugged. "I have no way of telling you, now do I?" he said. "It won’t be until I try and find out that I can give you a specific answer."

The man agreed.

"Do you wish to test your comprehension speed against me?"

Alex raised an eyebrow. "Comprehension speed? Regarding what?"

Xianhai pointed in a direction. "There is a place in that region where you can find several sources to study elemental Dao through. Would you like to participate in that against me?"
