No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother

Chapter 296 - 294: A Slim Chance [Part 4]

In that instant, Liam Spencer’s legs felt like they were filled with lead, rooted to the spot, and as he inhaled deeply, he realized he was choking.

At that moment, he hadn’t yet realized that Maya Spencer might die without him having to lift a finger.

When he snapped out of it and rushed toward the bathtub, he saw it was already a pool of bloody water.

He stood frozen beside the bathtub, his first reaction was, Maya had committed suicide, slit her wrists, and had already done it before he arrived.

This was the outcome he had wanted to see, yet looking at Maya’s pale, barely breathing face, why didn’t he feel vindicated, why did life seem so bleak?

He stared at the fruit knife lying beside the bathtub, and slowly bent down, wanting to pick it up and end his own life.

At this moment, he only wanted to catch up to her, to ask her what she was really thinking? Why was she so heartless?

"Ma’am, ma’am! Ma’am, what’s wrong?" Sister Taylor suddenly appeared behind Liam Spencer, wailing for Maya Spencer, and her cry startled Liam into dropping the knife he had just picked up.

Following that, she knelt on the ground, clutching Liam’s legs and begged, "Young Master, please, quickly take the young lady to the hospital, maybe there’s still a sliver of hope, please."

Listening to Sister Taylor’s cries, Liam suddenly snapped out of his trance and suicidal thoughts, stepped into the bathtub and picked Maya up, and ran frantically towards the door.

Sister Taylor followed behind him, stumbling every three steps, crying her heart out, praying to God not to let anything happen to Maya.

By the time Liam carried Maya out to the yard, the servants had already brought Maya’s car out of the garage, waiting for them at the gate.

Without a second thought, Liam carried Maya into the back seat.

Inside the car, he held Maya tightly, his right hand grasping her wrist firmly, his face pressed close to hers.

Throughout the ride, the servant sped recklessly, and even though Liam felt the car wasn’t fast enough, he didn’t urge the servant on.

Feeling Maya’s cold body, he had already lost hope, already prepared for the worst.

Thus, he didn’t rush, only thinking, if Maya wasn’t around, what meaning would his life have? Who would he compete with? If so, wherever she went, he would follow, she was trying to hide from him, but he wouldn’t let her.

Maya’s suicide was undoubtedly the heaviest blow to Liam Spencer.

At the hospital, as soon as the car stopped, doctors and nurses rushed forward, taking Maya from Liam’s arms, and headed straight for the emergency room.

The quiet hospital, the deep corridor, Liam stood at the entrance, listening to the sound of the hospital bed wheels and the doctors’ voices, his mind blank.

He watched Maya move further and further away from him, feeling as if she was never coming back.

"Young Master, how is the young lady?" When Sister Taylor arrived, seeing Liam standing far from the emergency room, she thought Maya was beyond saving, and as soon as she spoke, she broke into tears again.

Listening to Sister Taylor, Liam responded like a dead man, "In rescue."

Sister Taylor, hearing Liam’s words, rushed towards the emergency room, hands clenched, pacing back and forth at the door, praying for Maya.

Then, Liam finally took steps, quickly walking towards the emergency room.

He stood at the door, gritting his teeth, his eyes red as he stared angrily inside. As he gradually regained clarity and realized Maya had attempted suicide, his eyes turned red, wishing he could grab her off the operating table and ask what she really wanted.

After the suicide attempt, what Maya told Charlotte Owen about a green hat was no longer worth mentioning today.

As time passed, Liam’s mind became clearer, and his hatred for Maya grew deeper.

As dawn slowly broke, Maya was finally pushed out from the emergency room.

Seeing Maya on the IV drip, Liam knew she was out of immediate danger. It’s good there was no danger, only with her alive could they slowly sort things out between them.

At that moment, looking at Maya, the anger had already drowned out his concern. He didn’t approach the bed nor ask the doctor about her condition.

The doctor looked at the angry Liam and the tearful Sister Taylor, sighed deeply to relax, and said, "Don’t worry! The patient has been saved. Once she wakes up, it will be all right, but she will be very weak and will need to rest well."

"Thank you, doctor." At this moment, Sister Taylor was still crying, while Liam stood aside, silently.

Shortly after, Maya was pushed into the VIP ward, and Sister Taylor suddenly remembered to call Aron Hanson. Thus, in the ward, only the unconscious Maya and the angry Liam remained.

The man had his hands in his pockets, glaring at the girl on the bed, his anger had reached its peak.

As for the reason behind Maya’s suicide, he had guessed it almost entirely correct, so he couldn’t forgive her, couldn’t forgive her for giving up her life for another man.

Before tonight, he thought Maya was a cold, heartless, selfish woman, yet he hadn’t expected her emotions to be so pure, so pure it drove him crazy, made him jealous.

Such a simple, beautiful her, why was there not even a fraction of her heart belonging to him?

"Young Master, thank you for today. If it weren’t for your timely appearance, the young lady might not have woken up." After making the call, Sister Taylor thanked Liam.

Liam didn’t acknowledge Sister Taylor’s gratitude, instead continued to stare at Maya, as if staring so intently would make her wake up sooner.

Liam indeed wanted Maya to wake up immediately, he was impatient to confront her, to teach her a lesson.

Beside him, Sister Taylor, seeing the man’s angry appearance, took a deep breath and cautiously said, "Young Master, you’ve been up all night, go back and rest! I can watch over the young lady."

Listening to Sister Taylor’s suggestion to leave, Liam finally shifted his gaze from Maya to Sister Taylor, and then he asked cynically, "What? Afraid I’ll strangle Maya?"

"Young Master, what are you saying? I just see you’re very tired and worry you’ll not make it. I’ll notify you as soon as she wakes up." Sister Taylor, seeing Liam’s resentful look, recalled his furious driving through the villa gates and rushing into Maya’s room, and she was truly afraid Liam might regret sending Maya to the hospital, so she suggested he leave.

It wasn’t unreasonable for Sister Taylor to think so because Liam’s gaze had long revealed his heart, his eyes were hating Maya, wishing he could strangle her.

"Sister Taylor, if I wanted Maya’s life, even if you’re here, you couldn’t stop me." Then, he added, "Go back and see if Maya left anything behind."

Listening to Liam’s orders and seeing his fierce gaze, Sister Taylor dared not disobey, so she left quietly.

As she left, she instructed the nurses at the station to check the ward periodically and call her immediately if anything happened.
