That evening, including the guests, everyone checked into the vacation villa. As the person in charge of the villa had said, there were plenty of vacant rooms because the villa had never accepted guests from the start.
"Miss Shen," the man handed over a room card, "Your room is on the top floor. We haven’t had the chance to record your fingerprint yet, so please use the room card for now."
When Shen Zhiyi reached the top-floor room and opened the door, she knew it was a room Pei Yu had stayed in before. The furnishings were arranged to his taste, and a few of his clothes were in the wardrobe—the scent of agarwood on them was very faint, indicating it had been a long time since his last visit here.
The luggage rescued from the collapsed building was taken away to be cleaned, and after Shen Zhiyi finished washing up, she directly picked out one of Pei Yu’s robes to wear.
She had just sat down on the bed when the phone on the bedside table rang. She answered and naturally sprawled on the bed.
"Pei Yu."
"Hmm," Pei Yu, hearing her good mood, softened his expression a bit, "There’s a phone in the last drawer, use that one for now."
"Okay," Shen Zhiyi found the mobile phone, "Why did you build a private villa here? It seems like you haven’t been here for a very long time."
Pei Yu remained silent for a few seconds, not very noticeably, before answering nonchalantly, "Isn’t the scenery there nice? Built a villa for convenience when vacationing, do you like it?"
"It’s quite nice," Shen Zhiyi stood on the balcony, looking out at the raging storm, "I’ve never been to this area before."
