My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon

Chapter 180: Disappointing

No one wanted to lose. To lose meant to be at the mercy of others. While the treatment for the weak was varied, it typically ranged from slavery to annihilation.

What losing did give one were lessons in humility and understanding.

By losing one had the option to blame others and remain the same, or to learn and adapt.

The Naga, which were losers by every conceivable metric, were the champions in this area. They had no inherent strengths like other races; in some respects, they were the closest to humans.

Thus, much like people, they had several lessons in humility. So much so that there no longer lay any trace of arrogance in their mentalities. What remained instead was a desire to get stronger.

"They remind me of you, darling," Bianca commented with a smile.

"Me?" Elian pointed to himself, confused.

The witch nodded as she watched the Naga.

"Yes, they are the closest to you of all the races. They know they are weak, so be it their form, tactics, or identity; it seems those are worth less than victory to them."

Elian couldn’t help but agree. The fact that the Naga were willing to trade their snake lower halves for horse legs, wings, and many others was a telling sign. These beings no longer gave second thoughts about what they had to be. Their only concern was—

"Victory... hmm... you’re right."

Before Elian and Bianca could call to them, something came down from the sky. It was a familiar face, Epsilon, one of the Sea Sirens. But rather than a serpentine lower half, she now had a propulsion system like those of a rocket.
