Chapter 2401: The Supreme Race of Paradise
Omens were similar to Oniric Truths in the sense that they embodied the power of Concepts and Laws at the same time. However, they surpassed them in one crucial aspect: Omens could evolve.
As one understood and mastered an Omen, it became part of them—a fragment of the soul itself—much like how Oniric Truths fused into a True Name.
Yet unlike Oniric Truths, Omens were not fixed. They were capable of growth, transformation, and even evolution under the right circumstances.
Instead of learning multiple Omens, one only needed to master a single one. As additional Omens were understood, they were consumed by the first, becoming nourishment for its development.
"Everything in this place seems to want to consume others to grow."
Once more, Cain was unsettled by the devouring and brutal nature of Paradise. Even its cosmic rules were cannibalistic, forcing growth through absorption and destruction.
Using the Omen of the Blood Sun, Cain began to interact with the bodies of the Blutlinie he had captured. He initiated a meticulous process of condensation. Every atom of their bodies, energy, and souls was broken down and refined. Nothing was wasted.
Gradually, Cain reached deep into their hearts, where a radiant drop of blood resided. When focused upon, that single drop felt as though it contained an entire world within it.
"The Ancestor Drop."
This was the determining factor of a Blutlinie’s talent and potential, as well as the core of their Path of Power.
Cain continued the condensation and compression process until dozens of Ancestor Drops floated within him, surrounded by streams of blood, vitality, and soul force. He could easily have used those drops to forge his own and give birth to a new body immediately—but doing so would have been a grave mistake.
His mind sharpened as he redirected the streams of blood, vitality, and soul force toward the three cocoons resting at the heart of his oceanic body. Only then did he gather all the Ancestor Drops together.
