Chapter 1381: Angry with the Doctor
"Dr. Griffiths, I’m feeling a bit unwell today and would like to request a leave," Atra Blanc said, "Could someone else go first..."
"Feeling a bit unwell?" The doctor frowned, looking displeased, "Who’s going to care whether you’re comfortable when you’re at work? What if there’s a surgery going on now? What if someone’s life needs saving now? When faced with difficulties, the first thought should be how to overcome them. Stop making excuses right away. Today you’re unwell, tomorrow she’s unwell — how about everyone takes leave, then? Is there still work to be done? I see that you nurses are just too delicate; as soon as it’s time to work, you start saying you’re unwell."
Atra Blanc was chastised to the point where she couldn’t look up, feeling extremely embarrassed.
The doctor said coldly, "After handling the discharge formalities for bed 12, remember to remove the sheets and mattress, and take them to the cleaning room for disinfection."
Atra Blanc pursed her lips and nodded slightly, "Understood."
Once the doctor left, Atra Blanc’s colleague couldn’t hold it in any longer and stood up for her, "That Frank Griffiths is so despicable! There are so many nurses in our hospital, but he’s fixated on ordering you around! He acts all justified! Everyone knows he’s doing this because he holds a grudge after you rejected his advances; his heart is littler than a pinhole! Benevolent and skillful my foot!"
Atra Blanc sighed, "Forget it, he’s a doctor... He needs us nurses to cooperate for work, it’s not good to refuse..."
"Are you just going to let him bully you like that?" Her colleague grabbed her arm, "Don’t be silly. Once you’ve taken leave, just go. What’s he going to do about it? If he can’t find you, he’ll naturally call on another nurse to do those tasks."
"Ah, he’s just venting; he’ll be fine once he’s done. If he doesn’t get it out, it’ll just go on and on." Atra Blanc sighed, "Don’t worry, I know how to handle it."
Her colleague scoffed, "You, your temper is just too good."
