Chapter 798: She is a Person of Status
Finally out, Helen took a deep breath. Staying in the underground research base with a malfunctioning ventilation system was simply suffocating. Thankfully Qiao Ya came and provided much needed aid.
Upon reaching her vehicle, Helen discovered that one of the cars had been taken by Gu Fan. The remaining cars had punctured tires and were really unusable, leaving Helen absolutely furious.
When Helen returned to the warehouse, Dong Ni and the others had crawled out of the elevator. Many of them were injured, making their placement a problematic issue.
Qiao Ya counted them: there were actually eight people unable to move from injuries. Gu Fan, it seems, had escaped without a scratch. Qiao Ya didn’t say anything, but he could sense Helen’s displeasure.
Dong Ni collapsed onto the ground, panting heavily: "That bastard Gu Fan. If I catch him, I won’t let him off easily."
Qiao Ya said: "Immediately notify the organization to monitor Gu Fan’s movements. If I’m not mistaken, he’ll definitely go find Su Hui and David. Considering they moved so many things, they can’t be in a small car. It’s likely a sizable truck they’re in."
Upon hearing this, Helen agreed that it made sense. She let Qiao Ya take charge while she calmed down.
Seeing Helen walk out, Dong Ni pulled Qiao Ya aside and quietly grumbled, "What do we do? This madame is angry. Will she blame this failure on us?"
In response, Qiao Ya didn’t seem optimistic: "It’s hard to say. You know how temperamental she is. She’s very competitive and this failure surely upset her. If the organization investigates, we don’t know what will happen. We may very well end up being scapegoats."
