Qiao Ya kept silent, ordering men to investigate the situation in the underground research base. Meanwhile, he instructed a strict guard to be kept on Gu Fan and Su Hui.
Dong Ni wore an expression of gleeful schadenfreude, that you’re finally in my grasp sort of look. He was certainly one to hold a grudge.
"It’s over. We’ve fallen into the enemy’s hands, what do we do now?" Su Hui glanced around, trying to find a moment of laxity from the opponents. If she could seize an opportunity to strike back, they might have a chance to escape.
But Qiao Ya seemed to see what Su Hui was thinking, and ordered everyone to keep a certain distance from her to avoid giving her any leverage.
"You’re kidding, he’s taking it so seriously!" sighed Gu Fan. Qiao Ya was frankly leaving no room for opportunities.
Soon, someone came running back to report that the underground research base was littered with bodies, blood flowing like rivers. This made Qiao Ya’s face darken, but he didn’t believe it and went over to see for himself.
Gu Fan immediately shouted, "Please check the surveillance, we’ve only just arrived, whatever happened here has nothing to do with us, and you can verify that from the surveillance recordings."
After a while, Qiao Ya returned, wrathful. He stormed up to Gu Fan, pushing his gun to Gu Fan’s head, shouting, "I’ve seen the surveillance, you still claim it has nothing to do with you two. Su Lei and several of our men were killed by Lin Xi, what more do you have to say?"
"What, Su Lei was killed?" Dong Ni was stunned, then enraged, pointing his gun at Su Hui.
