That day when Gao Lu from the identification bureau was going home after work, Su Hui suddenly appeared while he was starting the car, knocking on the passenger-side door.
Gao Lu was confused. He lowered the window and asked, "What’s up, gorgeous? Need anything?"
"Sorry to bother you, but my car has broken down. It’s hard to find a taxi at this time and I need to go somewhere urgently. Can you give me a ride?" Su Hui was pleading, making it challenging for Gao Lu; he wanted to go straight home.
But considering Su Hui’s beauty, Gao Lu thought, just this once, and agreed, opening the passenger door.
"Thank you! You’re really helping me out." Su Hui expressed her gratitude, then told Gao Lu to take her to a large shopping plaza not far from his home, so it wouldn’t be much out of his way.
While driving, Gao Lu spoke, "I didn’t expect our police beauty to grace my car with her presence today, quite a pleasant surprise."
Once again, Su Hui thanked him and said, "I noticed something wrong with my car. Then I saw you coming, and in my rush, I grabbed the first person I saw. Sorry for the trouble."
"It’s not too much trouble, or perhaps you’re just unlucky, but I’m fortunate," Gao Lu replied with a soft laugh. Any colleague in their right mind would take a second glance at Su Hui.
Su Hui chuckled and remarked, "When I was a detective at the branch, I was always taking various items to the colleagues in the identification bureau. We interacted a lot, and the relations were good. It seems the heavens are saying I have a special connection with the identification bureau."
"Really? I never expected to get lucky with a beauty in the identification bureau." Gao Lu couldn’t help laughing, then added, "You’re doing administrative work now. It seems more suitable for you. You don’t look like a person who can fight, but I’ve heard your skills are good."
Su Hui laughed awkwardly, "I am decent enough. I guess my colleagues in the branch are just not quite there yet, so I have been undefeated."
