Chapter 176: The New Base
"You still have the appetite to eat." Lin Xi strode in, wearing an annoyed expression. She plopped herself into a seat and the breakfast on the plate instantly flared up, quickly turning into a charred mess.
Gu Fan quickly intervened, "Let’s talk this out. Don’t burn my house down, you know this old place means a lot to me."
"If things don’t get sorted out, I won’t just burn your house; I’ll burn you too." Lin Xi had an ’I’m not joking’ look about her that made Gu Fan recoil slightly, intimidated by this undefeated version of Lin Xi. Nonetheless, he steel himself and asked, "May I ask where I have offended you, dear Queen."
"Now, there are rumors in school that you’ve dumped me for a new love. Each time I walk around campus, I am met with strange looks that leave me humiliated. If it continues like this, I’ll set the school on fire. Weren’t you supposed to flush out these rumors? You’re not living up to your word." Lin Xi accused, her fiery gaze penetrating, causing Gu Fan to avert his eyes.
Scratching his head, Gu Fan showed a distressed expression, "This isn’t easy to manage, I can’t silence all the gossipers."
"Oh really? If you fail to handle it, I can start a rumor that I’m with Du Jun and it’s actually you who’s been dumped." Lin Xi’s words were destructive and Gu Fan immediately panicked, "No way, where do I put my face then."
"Now you understand the importance of face, so why aren’t you doing something about it?" Lin Xi slammed the table so hard that it nearly frightened Gu Fan. He was afraid that the table would splinter under her force.
Gu Fan could only say, "Let me think of a way. I am sure I will figure something out."
"Fine, I’ll give you a few days’ extension, or else..." Lin Xi didn’t finish her sentence, but her derisive snort sent chills down Gu Fan’s spine.
With great difficulty, Gu Fan managed to get Lin Xi to leave. He patted his chest in relief and cursed whoever started the rumor for being utterly despicable.
In the meantime, Lin Xi had just left Gu Fan’s house when a sports car zoomed up. It halted right before Lin Xi, who naturally hopped in.
