The doors made of seven-colored glass slowly opened under the push of two Silver Moon Knights.
The noise from outside the cathedral surged in like a sudden gust of wind, instantly filling the entire hall.
Gray looked around; the members of the White City team were still scattered in the surroundings.
After a brief silence, Shelley stood up, walked step by step to Gray’s side, and took his hand.
"Whatever happens, I’m willing to face it with you."
"Thank you."
Yilin let out a helpless sigh, then walked over as well and stood beside Gray.
Soon after, the others followed. This included the resigned Jones and Dora, the nonchalant Pas, and the bewildered Bob.
Finally, everyone’s gaze settled on the lone figure of Count Gruglu.
Count Gruglu took a deep breath and said softly, "Is there really no other way? Couldn’t we... make amendments to the current edict? This way, at least we wouldn’t need to fully rescind it. Quietly make adjustments, not even letting them know, and that would at least reduce the voices of dissent a bit."
"Any edict comes with unforeseen consequences; amendments require time. None of us know what the right move would be. If we’re wrong, we wouldn’t even have the chance to make amends. The safest approach right now is to restore everything to its original state. At least in that original state, we know there won’t be any major issues, and people will know how to live their lives." Yilin spoke these words.
