Chapter 105 - 35: Black and White (2)_2
The hall was silent, except for the roaring voice of Count Gruglu.
In the end, he turned his face to Gray, panting, and said, "I hope you can seriously consider my suggestion."
"But if the decree is not immediately canceled, the problem could very likely continue to escalate. This would mean we would need even more food, and in the end, even if other countries are willing to support us, we would not be able to fill the gap," Gray said softly.
"Then eat less?" Count Gruglu spread his hands, "Eat less, turn three meals a day into two, then into one. As long as we’re not starving to death, isn’t that fine?"
Gray looked at him silently.
Count Gruglu, helpless, had to change his tone, "Alright, maybe some people would starve to death, but maybe not many, right? That’s better than facing this damned predicament, right? Your reputation will be damaged, and you might never restore it. We don’t even need to convince them. We could directly declare war on the Allen Kingdom, on the grounds that they invaded us before. Take all their food, and we would have enough time to resolve everything without directly stopping the decree."
Everyone around stood silently, quietly watching Gray, not saying a word.
Gray’s gaze swept around and finally settled on Shelley.
Shelley quietly raised her hand and said, "I support whatever decision you make."
Looking back at Count Gruglu, Gray said softly, "If I do that, I would be violating the spirit of a knight."
"Is knight’s honor more important than reputation? Isn’t holding to knight’s honor just for the sake of reputation?"
