I Want to Die, But I Am Immortal

Chapter 59: Capture of two

The rush of adrenaline started to wear off. Adam’s breathing gradually returned to normal as he stood in the quiet, destroyed kitchen. He glanced down at the two men at his feet who were unconscious.

Once assets, they are now important information sources. He could not afford to allow them to resurface as threats.

There was a new purpose to his movements. His hands were guided by the techniques he had learned from the assassins he had slain. He was aware of what to do. He conducted a professional search of them.

First he took away their weapons. Boot-sheathed knives and a small, ankle-strapped hold-out pistol. Then he looked around for other gadgets. Anything that might jeopardize his position is tracked by communication equipment.

Near the sofa in the living room, he discovered their abandoned pistol—the one he had fired from the desk. He took it up. All he could do was shake his head slightly.

For a professional, leaving his main weapon so far out of reach was a novice mistake. They had paid a heavy price for their error.

He proceeded to the dining room after disarming them. Two heavy wooden chairs were dragged back into the kitchen by him. One by one, he dragged the unconscious bodies into the chairs.

In a utility closet, he discovered a coil of rope. He secured them firmly to the chairs. He was careful to make sure there was no room for error or way out.

He used the knots that he was unaware he was familiar with, his hands moving with a natural skill.

He filled a bowl with cold water from the kitchen sink after he was sure they were safe. He made his way back to the two men in chains. He flung the water in their faces.
