Chapter 204 - 204: All That Is
[: 3rd POV :]
Aurelian wiped the golden blood from the corner of his mouth and laughed.
A low, disbelieving laugh that slowly sharpened into something cold.
"Ha… hah…," he breathed. "So that's how it is."
He straightened despite the damage, golden light flickering unsteadily around him like a wounded sun.
His eyes locked onto Daniel, no longer dismissive, but sharpened with venomous scrutiny.
"You think you've won?" Aurelian sneered.
"You think destroying a fragment of borrowed divinity makes you victorious?"
Daniel didn't answer.
That silence only seemed to amuse him more.
"Typical," Aurelian continued, spreading his arms mockingly.
"A beast who believes strength alone defines the end of things. You can erase techniques. You can destroy laws"
"But you don't understand what you're facing"
Arin tensed beside Daniel.
"Stop talking," she snapped.
"You've already lost."
Aurelian glanced at her, smile cruel.
"Lost?" He chuckled.
"I dont believe I have lost yet and Princess, you of all people should know better. This was never a battle meant to be *won*."
His gaze returned to Daniel.
"Do you know how many worlds screamed before this one? How many 'exceptions' thought they were special?"
Daniel finally spoke, voice calm. "You talk a lot for someone bleeding."
Aurelian laughed again, louder this time. "Yes. Because even now, you're still trapped inside the board."
He tapped his temple.
"No matter what you, it all leads to the same answer and that...is annihilation"
Arin's breath hitched. "Daniel—don't listen to him."
Aurelian's grin widened.
"Because the moment I fall… others will notice. Not envoys. Not factions."
His eyes gleamed fanatically.
"But Judges. Pillars. Things that don't negotiate"
Daniel stepped closer.
"And they'll come," Aurelian whispered, voice filled with twisted delight, "not to test you… but to erase you."
He leaned forward, eyes burning. "You are not balance, Daniel."
A pause.
"You are a mistake."
Daniel met his gaze, utterly unshaken.
"Good," he replied calmly.
"Mistakes are harder to correct."
Aurelian froze.
And for the first time, he didn't laugh.
The moment Aurelian's laughter faded, the battlefield answered with violence.
Golden sigils ignited beneath his feet, forming a layered array of rotating circles, each inscribed with Laws, Concepts, and Blessings so dense they distorted perspective.
His earlier arrogance sharpened into something colder, more deliberate.
"Very well," Aurelian said, voice ringing with authority.
"If you insist on standing in my way, then I will erase you properly."
Behind him, the sky battleships shifted.
Massive constructs of gold and ivory rotated in unison, their hulls opening like cathedral doors. Rings of light aligned along their undersides, humming as impossible quantities of mana and divine essence pooled together.
"Warships," Aurelian commanded calmly, not even looking back, "initiate Total Excision Protocol."
The battlefield did not simply shake.
It panicked.
The moment Aurelian's command echoed through the heavens, the sky battleships responded as one.
With vast cathedral-sized constructs rotating into an annihilation array.
Rings of golden scripture spun around their hulls, each symbol locking into place with a sound like a closing coffin.
Arin felt it before she saw it.
Her breath hitched.
"Daniel…" she whispered, dread crawling up her spine. "They're not just aiming at us. They're—"
"They're rewriting the area," Daniel finished calmly.
Above them, the clouds were peeled apart layer by layer, revealing a lattice of divine artillery forming across the sky.
Each battleship opened its ventral core, revealing blazing spheres of compressed law, enough to erase civilizations with a single volley.
Aurelian raised one hand.
The world screamed.
Thousands of beams descended at once, not merely light, but judgment given form.
Each carried stacked Laws: Purification, Annihilation, Absolute Severance, and Conceptual Erasure, all blessed and sanctified by the Alliance's gods.
Arin's knees buckled.
"This… this isn't a battle," she gasped. "This is an execution!"
Daniel stepped forward.
The ground beneath him blackened, not burned, but emptied.
His shadow stretched impossibly long, swallowing debris, light, even sound.
"Stay behind me," he said quietly.
She clutched his coat, voice trembling. "Daniel, if this hits—"
"It won't."
The first beam struck.
And vanished.
Not deflected.
Not blocked.
It simply ceased to exist the instant it touched Daniel's raised palm.
Then another.
And another.
The sky began to empty.
[: Absolute Consumption :]
Daniel stood unmoving as the barrage poured into him and disappeared, each devoured attack amplifying his existence, his presence growing heavier, denser, until the air itself bent around him.
The warships' weapons began to fail.
Runes dimmed.
Laws unraveled.
Entire firing arrays collapsed as the Concepts powering them were consumed mid-function.
"What?" a commander screamed through the divine channel. "Our armaments are—!"
"Continue firing!" Aurelian roared.
"Do not stop!"
Golden blood trickled from his clenched fist.
Daniel exhaled slowly.
"You're wasting resources."
Aurelian snarled. "You think this makes you superior?"
Golden light exploded around him.
[: Relic of Dawn: Scepter of Unending Verdict :]
A relic given and rewarded to Aurelian by the Gods of the Alliance.
The artifact manifested with a thunderous pulse, reality bowing as it appeared.
The prism at its head rotated violently, each facet reflecting a different execution sentence written into existence.
"This relic," Aurelian declared, voice ringing with sanctified wrath, "was forged from the unanimous will of a thousand conquered realms!"
He slammed the scepter forward.
[: Supreme Verdict: Guilty Without Appeal :]
And then, the reality agreed.
The world declared Daniel wrong.
Existence turned against him, probability collapsing, causality reversing, time rewriting so that his resistance had *never* existed.
Arin screamed. "Daniel—!"
Chains of verdict wrapped around him, forcing his shadow to recoil as the concept of inevitability pressed down.
Daniel tilted his head.
"…Oh."
The chains snapped.
Not broken, it was onvalidated.
[: Devourer's Greed: Predation Override :]
However, Hierarchy was inverted and the Supreme Verdict screamed as it was forcibly rewritten.
[: Target Reclassified: Consumable :]
The chains dissolved into black mist and were eaten whole, their authority erased permanently.
The prism atop the scepter cracked violently, one facet shattering.
Aurelian staggered.
"That! No! How can it be broken!" Aurelian was baffled by the sight.
He never once in a million years would have thought that the artefact given by the Gods would have shattered easily just like that.
It was one of his most prized treasure and it should have been impossible to be broken.
No laws of concepts would be able to shatter it as that artefact was dimmed above it.
Daniel stepped forward.
"You keep mistaking permission for ownership."
"You dare!"
Aurelian roared in fury.
Golden armor slammed into existence around him.
[: Armament of Radiant Dawn :]
Plates of divine alloy locked over his body, each etched with Blessings granted directly by the Alliance's gods.
Wings erupted from his back, razor-sharp feathers of light, each one a sanctified execution blade.
But at the same time, Aurelian summoned three artifacts descended.
He deemed that using his powers wouldn't be enough to kill Daniel, hence, he summoned more artefacts.
[: Crown of Immutable Law :]
- Enforcing priority over reality.
[: Chains of Covenant :]
- Able to bind even abstract beings.
[: Scripture of Ascension :]
- Able to rewrite stats endlessly.
"My existence is sanctioned!" Aurelian thundered. "Yours is heresy!"
He vanished.
Arin barely had time to gasp before Aurelian appeared in front of her, blade raised, yet it was stopped as Daniel was already there.
The impact of their clash shattered the ground into floating continents.
Shockwaves tore the sky open, clouds disintegrating as Concepts collided violently.
"I told you," Daniel said calmly, pushing Aurelian back, "no one touches her."
Aurelian twisted midair.
[: Conceptual Armament:Thousandfold Execution :]
A storm of radiant weapons erupted, spears, swords, arrows, each one backed by severed futures, guaranteed hits.
Arin screamed. "Daniel!"
Daniel didn't dodge.
[: Maw of Endless Hunger :]
The storm vanished.
Every weapon, and every future.
Every guarantee.
All gone.
The Scripture of Ascension ignited, pages blackening as the Laws feeding it were devoured.
"No!" Aurelian shouted. "Warships! Drop sanctified payloads!"
The armada responded.
Entire continents of condensed divine light fell from the sky.
Daniel turned slightly, shielding Arin completely.
[: Sovereign Feast of Oblivion :]
The sky collapsed into shadow.
Every payload was devoured mid-descent, stripped of Laws, Authorities, Blessings, Devour Marks burned into the void where they vanished.
The warships began to die.
Engines screamed.
Entire vessels went dark as their governing Concepts disappeared.
"Retreat!" a commander cried.
"Hold position!" Aurelian roared. "Fire everything!"
Arin clutched Daniel desperately. "Daniel!"
"I know," he said softly.
His voice cooled.
"This ends now."
Aurelian lunged one final time, desperation tearing through his pride.
"Even if I fall," he screamed, "the Balance will—!"
Daniel's hand closed around his face.
The world went silent.
[: Final Banquet: All That Is :]
Aurelian's scream was one of understanding.
His Laws unraveled.
His Concepts shattered and his Blessings were stripped bare.
His existence collapsed inward, devoured down to the last sanctioned fragment, each absorption reforging Daniel's 'Story', elevating his existence further beyond reach.
And all of Aurelian's Artifacts cracked, shattered, dissolved and disintegrated.
And eventually, Aurelian vanished.
Daniel lowered his hand as the surviving warships fled.
Silence returned.
Arin stared at him, breath shaking. "…Daniel."
He turned to her, calm as ever.
"It's over."
Far beyond the world, something ancient shifted…and it was the entity of Balance that tembled.
