Chapter 1566: Doesn’t Your Conscience Hurt When You Treat People Differently Like This?
Thomas Fisher shared everything he knew with Easton Holmes without leaving out a single detail; he had no intention of hiding anything from his elder brother when he came today.
"Benjamin Shaw got injured and ended up in the hospital because of this?" Easton Holmes hadn’t expected Benjamin to get involved, but he understood after hearing Thomas’s words.
Thinking that Benjamin got injured while rescuing Alice Turner, Thomas felt especially troubled. Why wasn’t it him saving Alice? Instead, it was his third brother, who happened to be his romantic rival.
His third brother wouldn’t use this matter to pressure Alice, but when it came to his third brother’s mother and sister, Thomas felt a big question mark arise in his mind.
He had already clearly seen their behavior in the hospital before; they would absolutely use this incident to pressure Alice.
Thinking about this, Thomas felt very frustrated, and begrudgingly nodded, "Yeah, third brother got injured saving Alice."
"You weren’t there at the time?"
Seeing Thomas’s gloom, Easton Holmes already had a clear answer in his mind and sighed inaudibly.
"If I’d been there, third brother wouldn’t have had the chance to play the hero," Thomas joked lightly, but his tone and expression didn’t match the light-hearted words at all.
Easton Holmes shot him a disdainful look and unkindly mocked him, "You’re such a loser. You can’t even protect your own woman."
After speaking, he cast a sneering glance at his brother, then walked toward the living room.
"Brother! I’m not a loser."
Thomas loudly defended himself, then followed with brisk steps.
When Easton Holmes and Thomas Fisher entered the living room one after another, the four people who arrived earlier were already chatting enthusiastically, especially Anthony and Lily Turner.
Easton Holmes had a very clear goal and went straight to Lily Turner’s side. After walking over, he sat in between her and Anthony, subtly separating the two who were engrossed in conversation.
"Wife! What are you chatting about with Mr. Anthony?"
After sitting down, he very naturally put his arm around her, completely unconcerned about the presence of others around.
"We’re chatting about interesting things. The topic wouldn’t interest you; go chat with your brother."
Lily Turner was engrossed in her conversation with Anthony and didn’t realize Easton Holmes’s jealous streak was acting up. She nudged him to sit aside and not interfere with her and Anthony’s chat.
Easton Holmes wouldn’t let his wife be drawn away. He promptly grasped Alice Turner’s hand that was pulling him. He firmly wrapped her hand in his own large hand, preventing any further mischief.
"With guests here, how could I chat alone with Thomas? That would be considered rude," he declared nobly, when really, he just didn’t want his wife to have more contact with other men.
"Handsome brother-in-law! Feel free to focus on your own matters. I definitely wouldn’t say you’re rude," Anthony was naturally sociable and hospitable, despite only having seen Easton Holmes once, he warmly called him handsome brother-in-law.
Beautiful elder sister! Handsome brother-in-law!
This guy certainly knows how to flatter!
Upon hearing Anthony call Easton Holmes handsome brother-in-law, Thomas Fisher felt quite indignant, "Anthony! Doesn’t your conscience hurt from treating people differently like this?"
He called Alice sister, and he is Alice’s fiancé, yet this kid always calls him by his full name.
