Chapter 1563: I’ll Listen to You
Alice Turner and Lily Turner chatted happily for a while, and then Alice shared her thoughts with Lily. After expressing her idea, she emphasized seriously, "Jacob will only stay tonight. Tomorrow morning I’ll take him away."
Due to the events that happened in the afternoon, Alice felt that besides their sister’s home, other places were dangerous.
"Sis! He can stay at my place for a few days if he wants. There’s no need to be so formal with me; we don’t need that between us sisters," Lily thought it was something significant, but it turned out Alice just wanted Anthony to stay at her home for one night, which she believed was not even worth mentioning.
However, her sister was so serious about it, which seemed unnecessary.
"Yes, we shouldn’t be so formal between us sisters. That’s why I just decided to bring him to your place," Alice said, but inside she couldn’t help but think more about it. After all, she was sending someone potentially dangerous to her sister’s home.
Lily smiled, "That’s more like my sister. Just bring him back."
Alice chatted with Lily a bit more before hanging up the phone. As soon as she ended the call, Thomas Fisher’s voice came from beside her, "Why don’t you stay at my brother’s house tonight as well."
He wanted to keep her close for twenty-four hours to take care of her, but he knew her well enough to understand she wouldn’t give him that opportunity.
"Their target is Jacob, not me."
Alice knew Thomas was concerned about her safety, but she couldn’t go with Anthony; she had so many things to do.
Tomorrow morning, she had to fly to the Derry Kingdom. She couldn’t just leave without a word like she did five years ago. She had to go home and inform her parents.
She also couldn’t ignore Benjamin Shaw, who ended up hospitalized due to injuries from saving her. He saved her life, and she couldn’t just avoid him.
It’s essential to repay a favor, especially when someone has saved your life.
As soon as she spoke, Thomas immediately retorted, "Their target is indeed Anthony, but since you came to Flame Country with him and your relationship is so close, if they can’t find him, they’ll definitely try to reach him through you."
The events earlier today were the strongest proof.
"I can protect myself. Stop worrying," Alice said while glancing at the man driving. His face was stern, showing no signs of joking or relaxation.
Upon hearing her words, Thomas turned his head to look at her, "If you’re sincere about not wanting me to worry, then listen to me and go with Anthony to my brother’s house later."
Everything can be negotiated, except for her safety.
"I have things to do,"
Alice responded, unwilling to give in.
Thomas remained unmoved and firm, "I can handle whatever you need to do. You can just go to my brother’s house with peace of mind."
The tasks she needed to handle, he could probably guess some of them, and he could take care of them for her.
"I can’t. I think..."
"Alice Turner! If you keep this up, I’ll really get angry."
Thomas was genuinely angry because Alice wasn’t considering her safety, calling her by her full name with a harsh tone devoid of gentleness.
It was Alice’s first time seeing Thomas truly angry, really angry, which somewhat scared her. Eventually, she reluctantly compromised, "I understand, I’ll listen to you."
