Chapter 1498: You’ll Never Remarry Alice in This Life
Under everyone’s gaze, Isla Lane took the phone out of her handbag. When she saw the word ’son’ flashing on the screen, her eyes suddenly sparkled with excitement.
"You all go ahead and eat, I’ll step outside to take a phone call." After saying that, she stood up with her phone and left the dining room.
Once she was away from the restaurant, Isla answered the call from Benjamin Shaw, but she was still worried about being overheard, so she lowered her voice a bit, "Son! I am with you..."
"Mom! You’re not at Alice’s house now, are you?" Over the phone, Benjamin sensed something odd in Isla’s tone and immediately became tense, hoping that he was just overthinking.
Hearing her son ask this, Isla blurted out excitedly, "Son! How did you know I was at Alice’s house? We truly are on the same wavelength, like how mothers and sons are connected."
She was delighted that her son could guess she was at the Turner Family’s house, and she naturally attributed it to their mother-son connection.
"You actually went to Alice’s house? You didn’t blurt out anything weird to her, did you?" Because things with Alice Turner were not going smoothly, Benjamin was already irritable, and after getting off the phone with Isla, his mood only worsened.
He tossed the phone onto the passenger seat and leaned back in the driver’s seat, staring blankly at the windshield, blocking out everything else.
Once he calmed down a bit and came back to his senses, he picked up the phone and saw that his mom had made several calls.
Seeing the missed calls displayed on the phone, Benjamin shouted "Not good" in his mind. Without a moment’s thought, he immediately called his mom back.
But even then, he was still too late; his mom had already gone to the Turner Family’s house. He was in turmoil over what his mom might have said.
Isla’s joyful expression froze instantly upon hearing Benjamin’s words, "What nonsense could I have said? You brat! You knew Alice was back, so why are you pretending not to know? You..."
"You’re at the Turner Family’s house, please control your emotions."
Almost shouting, Isla’s voice was loud, and Benjamin, not knowing what was happening at the Turner Family’s side, hurriedly reminded his mom on the other end of the line to control herself.
If it were five years ago, Benjamin wouldn’t even care about these things, but now he was extremely cautious, afraid of upsetting the Turner Family.
His attitude shift was something his mom also clearly felt.

Benjamin Shaw knew about Thomas Fisher and Alice Turner being together because the group of them had parted ways at the hotel.
"I understand. I know what to do. You should go home first, don’t stay at the Turner Family’s house... You went there alone? Or did you go with my sister?" Benjamin suddenly remembered he had an over-involved sister, and there was no way she wouldn’t go home to complain after being scolded by him earlier.
