Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap

Chapter 1496: I Drank Hers for Her

Thomas Fisher placed his hand under the table and held Alice Turner’s hand resting on her leg, his fingers intertwined with hers.

"Well, today I definitely have to drink a few more glasses." He lifted the glass of wine in front of him with his other hand but didn’t drink immediately, instead raising it toward Christopher Turner, "Uncle! I’m going to drink freely without holding back."

After speaking, he proactively clinked his glass with his father-in-law’s.

"Feel free to drink to your heart’s content, I promise to provide you with enough wine." Christopher Turner maintained a happy smile as he clinked his glass with Thomas Fisher’s and the two men drank their wine in understanding.

"Sister Liu! Let’s have a drink too."

Seeing Isla Lane looking disapprovingly at Thomas Fisher, Sophia Wood hurriedly raised her glass and deliberately raised her voice to speak to Isla Lane.

Hearing Sophia Wood speak to her, Isla Lane immediately put away her disapproving expression and raised her glass to look at Sophia Wood.

At the moment she turned to Sophia Wood, her expression improved significantly, and a clear smile appeared at the corner of her eyes.

Seeing everyone start drinking, Alice Turner invited Charlotte Shaw to join, "Charlotte! You should drink too."

"Aren’t you drinking?" Everyone else had wine, but in front of Alice Turner, there wasn’t even a cup. Charlotte Shaw was puzzled and curious.

Before Alice Turner could speak, Thomas Fisher had already explained for her, "She gets drunk from just one glass, and she has things to do later, so I’ll drink her share."

Though he exaggerated a bit, it wasn’t far from the truth. She wouldn’t collapse after one glass, but she’s absolutely not someone who can drink heavily.

"Charlotte! You should drink with my mom and aunt, when I drink, I can’t do anything." At seven o’clock in the evening, she still had to meet Benjamin Shaw, so Alice Turner couldn’t drink. If she drank, her head would get fuzzy, and she didn’t want to delay this matter because of a drink.

Hearing her say this, Charlotte Shaw thought the things she mentioned referred to the company’s cooperation issues, "Haven’t you already left the company’s cooperation matters to Mr. An and your assistant? You don’t need to worry about it now."

She wasn’t trying to persuade Alice Turner to drink but wanted to seek something from her.

"The cooperation is left to Jacob and Grace, but I have other matters to handle." Alice Turner couldn’t tell the truth no matter what; if she did, Charlotte Shaw and Isla Lane would definitely overthink, assuming she had some intentions toward Benjamin Shaw.

Charlotte Shaw wanted to ask what important matters she had but couldn’t bring herself to ask, and she didn’t have the authority to dig further.

"Alright, then we’ll drink together another day." She hardly believed she could get drunk from a single glass.

"Alright! We’ll drink together another day." Alice Turner politely responded but had no intention of actually drinking with Charlotte Shaw. Drinking was not her forte at all.

She hadn’t touched alcohol for years and had no desire for its taste.

Charlotte Shaw smiled but said nothing more.

"Alice! You’re staying here for good this time, right? What are your plans for the future?" Isla Lane asked Alice Turner with a tone akin to a journalist interviewing her.

This question wasn’t just of concern to Isla Lane; everyone present shared the same curiosity.

Right after Isla Lane asked, everyone else at the table turned their gaze to Alice Turner.
