Chapter 1483: I Appreciate Your Kindness
After Thomas Fisher and Alice Turner left the hotel, the two of them got in the car and returned to the Turner Family.
The four people who left before them drove in two cars toward a restaurant.
Grace Young was placed in Charlotte Shaw’s car by Anthony, while he himself got into Benjamin Shaw’s car.
He wanted to talk to Benjamin Shaw alone, not about the cooperation between the two companies, but about the emotional entanglements between Benjamin Shaw, Thomas Fisher, and Alice Turner.
"Ex-husband! Why did you divorce Alice five years ago?" It was clear that the ex-husband loved Alice very much, but why did they divorce?
He had asked Alice the same question, but she always evaded it and never directly responded.
Anthony was eager to know why Benjamin Shaw divorced Alice Turner five years ago. There had to be deeper reasons for their divorce.
Hearing someone beside him mention his divorce from Alice Turner five years ago, Benjamin Shaw’s grip on the steering wheel tightened unconsciously, his eyes fixed straight ahead, feigning concentration on the road.
A trace of melancholy flashed in his eyes, but unfortunately, the person beside him didn’t notice.
"Mr. Anthony! This is my private matter, and it should have nothing to do with the cooperation between our two companies, right?" Benjamin Shaw didn’t turn his head at all, still maintaining his forward-facing posture, and if it weren’t for his moving lips, one wouldn’t even know he was speaking.
Uh?!
It was indeed the other party’s private matter, and certainly unrelated to their cooperation, but he just wanted to know.
Anthony turned slightly, looking at the man driving, "It is your personal matter, and it seems to have little connection to our companies’ cooperation, but saying it’s unrelated, it actually has a bit of connection."
Choosing to cooperate with the other party was because he was Alice’s ex-husband.
He was somewhat displeased with the man named Thomas being with Alice and hoped that Alice and her ex-husband would reconcile.
"What do you mean by this? Are you pitying me for being abandoned?" Benjamin Shaw glanced at Anthony, who was sitting in the passenger seat, his gaze indifferent and his expression bland.
Hearing this, Anthony waved his hand repeatedly, "No, I absolutely didn’t mean that. I just saw you still love Alice and wanted to help you and her reconcile."
Worried about the other party misunderstanding further, he expressed his true thoughts.
In Anthony’s view, the original couple is better, but he overlooked the most important point that love is about mutual affection, not one-sided feelings.
Two people who don’t love each other being together would only lead to torment and suffering, with no happiness to speak of.
Only when two people who love each other are together can they genuinely be happy and joyful.
People who don’t love each other should just forget each other, forcing them together would only breed resentment.
Anthony was still young and hadn’t truly loved, so he couldn’t understand this yet. He just acted according to his own desires.
Benjamin Shaw was quite surprised by Anthony’s thoughts; when he first heard Anthony mention his divorce with Alice Turner, he thought Anthony was trying to pry information for Alice Turner.
But to his surprise, that wasn’t the case at all.
He could tell that Anthony was speaking sincerely, not lying to deceive him.
"I appreciate your good intentions, but please don’t bring this up again in the future," Benjamin Shaw glanced at Anthony and then returned his focus to driving.
