Chapter 1481: Get Out of the Way
Anthony’s intent to stop Alice Turner from leaving was quite clear; he wouldn’t let her leave with Thomas Fisher and reached out to grab her.
"Your sister just said that everything depends on you." Before Anthony’s hand could reach her, Thomas Fisher pulled Alice Turner behind him, blocking Anthony’s hand from reaching her.
Anthony gave Thomas Fisher, who obstructed him, a resentful look and said irritably, "I’m talking to my sister, not you."
After speaking, he was about to bypass Thomas to find Alice Turner.
"Today, your sister’s time belongs to me. Whatever you have to say, say it later." Thomas Fisher stepped sideways, once again blocking Anthony.
"You..."
Annoyed, Anthony glared at Thomas Fisher and stayed rooted to the spot, not moving his feet. He leaned in to look at Alice Turner, who was standing behind Thomas Fisher, with a pleading expression, "Sis! Can’t you come home for dinner tomorrow instead?"
If he’d known this would happen, he should have asked Alice to change her plans this morning.
"No! This dinner concerns our lifelong matters." Thomas Fisher was quick to refuse Anthony before Alice Turner could speak. As soon as he finished, he felt someone pinch him, not needing to look to know who was behind it.
With Thomas Fisher repeatedly making decisions for Alice Turner, Anthony became somewhat angry, reaching out to yank Thomas Fisher aside, but his goal wasn’t achieved.
"I’m talking to my sister, get lost!" Furious and anxious, Anthony shouted at Thomas Fisher.
"You..."
Thomas Fisher, also quite angry, was ready to retort when Alice Turner emerged from behind him and firmly grasped his hand, silently signaling him to stop talking.
"Jacob! Today, I really can’t go with you; you and Grace Young go with the boss." Alice Turner spoke in a calm tone, but her stance was incredibly firm, casting a faint glance at Anthony without the usual softness.
Anthony had known Alice Turner for over five years and understood her well. Seeing her like this, he realized she was angry, and it was directed at him.
"...Alright." After staring at her for a moment, he reluctantly nodded in agreement.
"Then you should go now; we’re leaving too." Alice Turner was not polite with anyone, immediately ushering everyone except Thomas Fisher out.
Anyone who wasn’t deaf or dumb could tell she was issuing an eviction notice.
Upon hearing this, Benjamin Shaw and Charlotte Shaw stood up. The siblings’ expressions were less than favorable.
"Mr. Anthony! Let’s go." Benjamin Shaw had originally planned to refuse this cooperation opportunity. But after seeing Alice Turner protect Thomas Fisher so explicitly, a surge of anger burst forth in his heart. Irrespective of the situation, he was determined to sign this contract today.
Anthony gave Alice Turner a sullen look, then turned to walk towards Benjamin Shaw, making a gesture of invitation as he went, "Please!"
"Charlotte! Come with us." He didn’t forget to call Charlotte Shaw to join them.
"You discuss official matters; I won’t bother with trifling matters. Let’s arrange another day." Charlotte Shaw initially thought the situation would turn around, but she quickly realized that it wasn’t going to change easily.
Anthony stepped forward and took Charlotte Shaw’s arm, "You’re not an outsider; let’s go."
Charlotte Shaw looked down at the hand holding her arm, her mind suddenly experiencing a strange feeling, perceiving Anthony standing in front of her as not a man but a girl.
