Chapter 1426

Chapter 1426

Darian and Evangeline O'Rowane.

Darian was the eldest son born to Davey and Aeria, and Evangeline was born at the same time.

If one were to ask who the older one was, they'd probably fight like crazy for the title. Even so, Davey figured they would be the ones who understood each other best.

Sure, that would likely lead to them bickering the most, but it would also be the reason why they’d care for each other the most.

“Take care of Willow. I’ll go ahead in the meantime,” Darian declared.

“I'll catch up soon,” Evangeline said calmly, slowly helping Willow up.

“Evangeline? Is that you?” Willow asked with uncertainty, drawing close into her embrace.

“Yeah. It's really been a long time.”

Though Evangeline spoke calmly, her body was trembling.

Willow slowly began to understand what had happened. The place she confronted Doomsday in was different from Tionis. It was essentially a dimensional rift. While inside, the concept of time was a complete mess, and it was likely a gathering place for beings that shouldn't exist.

While theoretically possible, it was a practically impossible realm.

“How... did you...? Did you come from the future Abel came from?” Willow hesitantly guessed.

“You got it. I've been waiting for this day ever since Abel left,” Evangeline nonchalantly confirmed.

“They say pain goes away with time, right?”

Holding Willow, she softly answered, “Darian has it easier, but Dad, me, and the moms haven't forgotten you for a single moment—not even after twenty years.”

If Willow had sacrificed herself in Darian's inner world, things might not have turned out in such a way.

“So, don't ever do that again,” Evangeline solemnly commanded her. “I never want to go through that kind of regret again.”

“Does Abel... know?”

“He doesn't. We haven't told him anything, or at least never discussed it in front of him.”

Even so, there was no way he hadn't heard the story at least once over those twenty years. An offhand remark from someone in Heins would’ve been enough to tip him off.

“So you guys managed to hide it...”

“Abel has the authority of time and space. Our careful planning meant we couldn't let him find out and make a move on his own.”

That meant that, in the future where Willow died, everyone including Davey had kept the secret hidden for more than twenty years, all for the sake of this single chance.

“You little bitch,” Willow playfully insulted. “You're seriously out of your mind, aren't you?”

“Oh yeah? Then how about you, who sacrificed yourself alone to save Darian?”

Willow didn't have a response to that.

“I couldn't even play games properly after you died,” Evangeline tearfully lamented. “Every time I tried to play, I couldn’t help but remember when you would clumsily run around with a gun.”

Her voice was thick with emotion. Willow silently patted her back, then asked, “Will doing this change the future?”

Even if she lived in her current timeline, there’d likely be no change in theirs.

Evangeline slowly pulled away and said, “Ummm. I dunno...”

Willow sensed there was more to it, but chose not to press further.

Evangeline then drew her divine dragon sword Twilight, turned her back on Willow, and walked forward. “Darian and I are gonna tie that bastard up. When you get a chance, slam your power into its core.”

“W-wait! That's dangerous...!”

Before she could finish, a colossal wing ripped its way out through the space behind Evangeline.
