Chapter 225: The Hand Of Fate
After the bills were settled, Ken and Mu Lan together with Nanny Wan left the hospital and went back to the Mu Mansion. Mu Lan was not surprised to learn that Ken would also live in the Mansion. Her grandpa really doted on her and assigned her a full-time bodyguard. She was just worried that Ken would not be able to go home to his family.
Erik delegated his work to Marlon. He asked Camille to rearrange his important meetings to coincide with the times when Mu Lan was resting. The documents that needed his decision would be reviewed at night when Mu Lan was sleeping.
When the patriarch of the Lee family learned that Erik stayed in China and did not return with Marlon, he was very angry. He called Marlon and demanded that he come to the Lee ancestral mansion.
Marlon had no choice but to oblige. When Erik told him to handle the matters related to the company, Marlons asked him what should he say to his grandpa.
"I am warning you, Marlon, you have to tell the truth. Don’t cover for Erik." Grandpa Lee threatened him when he was sitting in front of him in the study.
"Yes, Grandpa. I will tell the truth."
"Why did Erik stay in China? What is he doing there?" Grandpa Lee asked in a stern voice.
Marlon studied Grandpa Lee before answering carefully.
"Grandpa, Erik wanted to keep this a secret and he told me to only tell this to you." Marlon paused for a long time as if he was hesitating.
"What? Don’t keep me hanging. Why are not continuing?" Grandpa Lee was getting impatient.
"Erik found Aryana in China." Marlon paused and waited for the information to sink in.
